Since the pandemic began, I’ve been spreading time with my thoughts lately, and more importantly, I’ve been spending more time reconnecting with nature. There’s a small forest area near my house I’ve been going to lately if I ever need to cool off and de-stress. In the centre of the pines, there’s a trickling water stream and birds singing in the trees. It’s a beautiful sight. Canada, we have the Victoria Day long weekend coming up, why don’t you spend some time outside? It’ll do you well. Here’s an old mountain song for you called In The Pines.

Throughout high school, I had the chance to see shows and even perform at Taco Pica. As a Saint Johner, it was one of the best experiences of my life. I’m glad I was able to take a selfie in that locally famous bathroom. I can’t imagine the number of musicians who have passed through its doors and played their hearts out to the sights and sounds of a mosh pit and the smell of teen angst and Guatemalan cooking. It breaks my heart to see this venue close; it is one of the most ...popular restaurants uptown and an integral part of the music scene and Saint John. It should act as a reminder: Business owners are trying to do all they can to keep their doors open, and it’s challenging for some. Please, please, please support local even after this pandemic is over. This pandemic is a time where we must focus our utmost attention to our communities they need us now more than ever. I hope after COVID-19, people will realize just how much we can get by without supporting big name brands and rely on local products, goods, and services instead. Thank you for everything, Santos. We’ll miss you. (Santos Photo credit: Local 107.3fm)

Words cannot describe the sorrow in my heart for the people of Nova Scotia. Despite being in New Brunswick just like the rest of the country I hurt and mourn alongside you. The country is facing double the hardship with COVID-19, and this senseless, tragic act that cost 22 people their lives, including Constable Heidi Stevenson. In times like these, we need to stand together in solidarity. It is an old song, but it continues to touch hearts across the country. It acts as... a reminder; we cannot let these moments define ourselves as Canadians. Like the song says, this land is your land just as much as it is mine. Stand together, folks; we will rise again. (Apologies in advance if the video is hard to see. It was pretty dark out.)

I was really looking forward to performing with many of my amazing musical peers at Rothesay Netherwood School’s Youth for Youth concert in support of the Teen Resource Centre. BUT! WE HAVE TECHNOLOGY! We are now accepting digital donations, and this Chords From Quarantine Facebook page in place of the concert. I do hope you can give just a little bit so the TRC can continue its important work in Saint John. ... https://www.canadahelps.org//teen-resource-centre-fundrai/

Happy Sunday, folks! It’s a beautiful day outside, so it’s a perfect time for a mental health walk! I’m a big fan of Wynonna and Naomi Judd so I decided to record one of their most famous songs. Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days)
