Its humbling as an artist when others invite your pieces into their house to become part of their home. #jamesandmae #abstractart #airdrie #airdrieartists #saskborn #founditsnewhome #art #acryllicpainting #goldleaf

Newest Piece Finally Completed! Its a blend of illustrated realism and abstract art. I love the country, its one of my happy places. I love the sights, the smell and the adventure of getting lost. There is a TON of close up detail in this piece: defintely one of my more recent favorites.... 12x36 #jamesandmae #localartist #buylocal #countrylife #airdrie #yycart #yyc #forsale

With change comes the need to resettle and declutter. I forgot about this piece! I painted this shortly after moving to Airdrie three years ago and it hung in my shared office until I moved spaces. In which it remained on the wall of the next tenant. If I recall correctly I was painting at the time with a sense of reclaiming identity. Its quite something to stop and look at your life in segmented slices and splices. When I recall where I came from to where I am, I am a differ...ent person. I allot much of that to the big guy upstair, but its also the people surrounding you who sharpen and solidify the person you become or the person you leave behind. I am grateful for every voice, big and small, who has played into my journey of identify, joy, authenticity and confidence. 36x48 on thick wrapped canvas #jamesandmae #forsale #art #localartist #largepainting #airdrie #customart #forgottenpiece #change #waymaker #supportlocal

What does it mean to be human? This is something I have pondered for some time. I have human rights and I have human responsibility: to be respectful, to walk in kindness, to be a peacemaker, to honor and to love unabashedly and with brazen authenticity. When I keep my focus on myself, I focus on my rights. When I look out for the good for others I look at their rights. What if we all kept our eyes up, off of ourselves and on the needs and rights of others? Would I be wronged...? Would I be left down trodden? Would my life be meaningless? Maybe, but for me, the answer is no. There is power in walking in the beauty of uplifting others even if credit or acknowledgement was to never come my way. This is what I dream of for my kids, for my family, for myself: not that my rights become inferior, rather the rights of others are exemplified in my life and actions. Here is my final thought: I want to live a contagious life. Not to replicate myself, but to spur others on to walk in Love and Goodness. 1John 3:14- "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death." 20"x20" Gallery wrapped canvas For sale #yyc #airdrie #jamesandmae #abstractart #inspirationoncanvas #1john314 #lovelovelove #purityofheart #humanrights #humanresponsibility
