I am committed to growing a thriving, innovative economy in Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke. I will create an Economic Round Table that meets regularly to identify ways for the Federal Government to help. Working with local businesses, unions and employers, I know we can discover ways to build on our local expertise. For example - our riding is one of few places in the world that has converted ships to LNG. I want to exercise collaborative leadership to see how we can attract more of this innovative work to the riding.

As your Member of Parliament, I will work to advance Canada’s international standing, something that will deliver real benefits, both here at home and around the world.

Creating a community where everyone can succeed requires a holistic approach. Within the first 90 days of being elected, I will establish a Healthy Communities Council, bringing together local experts and organizations to help address mental health, addictions, housing, and seniors’ needs in our community so I can articulate our needs in Ottawa.

My Community Office will have a dedicated military liaison so active and retired military members and their families can better navigate government services. This liaison will help veterans with claims and assist current members and their families with accessing federal government services. I will work with communities and the military to enhance mutual understanding and existing relationships.

First Nations are an integral part of our community and have unique insights, concerns and needs. I will meet with First Nations governments quarterly to ensure I can learn from them and better understand and support their interests in Ottawa.
