What a FANTASTIC DAY! Rogart Mountain is no easy task uphill in the snow. Once you get past the first 2 kms it's smooth sailing! There are great historical markers along the trail with snippets of interesting information. 1129 feet above sea level, who knew I'd be up that high today! If you have never been, put it on your to-do list! Just awesome. Depending on your skill level and speed it takes roughly 2-2.5 hours in the snow. Less if you're a seasoned pro.... Pre-order your food for your expected return time! Amazing Food. We had Maple Cafe Moca's to warm us up on our return, along with the smoked Mushroom Sandwich and Pork and Beans Soup. Everything was awesome. So glad I did it. Can't wait to try it again on the spring when Jane Falls is in full swing. A BIG thank- you to Sugar Moon Farm for the great hospitality. How do you cook your Turkey? A friend of mine made this one year for our annual Friendsgiving Dinner and it was hands down the best Turkey I ever had. I have been cooking mine this way ever since! Step #1 Brine your Turkey at least 12 hours a head of time Step #2 make a bed of Sage, rosemary and Thyme (all fresh) in the bottom on the pan for the turkey to sit on.... Step #3 stuff your Turkey with fresh thyme, sage, rosemary and an onion with herbs. Step #4 make an herb butter with sage, rosemary, pepper, thyme and butter from Masstown Butcher Shop & Creamery. Step #5 spread herb butter all over your Free range fresh Turkey from Ebbett's Meadow Brook Farm Step #6 bake to perfection Then use the savory juices in the bottom for your gravy... delicious! I am also trying my hand at home made stuffing this year... I'll let you know how that turns out. #thankful #localdinner #givemealltheturkey
