Earlier this month my dahlin sis @misstrish85 featured a bunch@of women for the Women’s Month! Here is my highlight Thanks again hun, much appreciated, nuff love Sistas holding up Sistars!!! "March 17th - Jamila JaiDanse Her flow is everything. Her passion for dance is remarkable; and her vibe is on point. This highlight today showcases a woman in our city who is graceful with every move she makes. I hired her for one of my events here and I admired her love for he...r craft. When she dances it's the most beautiful performance to witness. You can almost feel what she feels while gracing us with her moves. You are appreciated Jamila. Keep on blessing us with your creativity, keep moving forward and keep pursuing every single dream you may have. I highlight you; not only to give you your flowers but to let you know how amazing you are. Blessings always. Miss Trish See more

November 2019 I was accepted into Dancemakers 2019-2020 Peer Learning Network Program. I was actually in Toronto networking, researching, developing, creating work that would have later been presented along with my peers when the Covid shut down everything. Returning home safely a weeks later, I wondered what would come of it all amongst other things of course! Eventually we were all told that the program would be halted and then in the long run cancelled for the year. Mon...ths later after the closures, reopening and then re-lock down we were advised that unfortunately Dancemakers would be closing their doors for good Although I was not able to continue I cant thank @dancemakersto enough for allowing me to be apart of their program and space for as long as I was able A dance home/family away from home. To the entire staff, board, artists may we hold those memories and experiences close. All the best to you all See more

As a multi-interdisciplinary artist, isolation can be a gift and a curse. During these times gentleness can be useful as well as helpful. Be gentle in your creating Be gentle in your resting Be gentle, and if you are able stretch a little, dance a little, groove to your favourite tunes a little ( or a lot!) When this subsides I’m curious to see the art that will come out of this and just as welcoming to the art that wont be created as well! ... Happy International Dance Day See more
