Its been an exciting day on the farm. 20 days ago we placed a dozen eggs in an incubator as a little project for the kiddos as an attempt to hatch our own replacement laying hens. These are a combination of Easter Egger and Americana birds. Hopefully we end up with some hens and not all roosters lol. 3 little guys decided to make their grand entrance today. Stay tuned for more chick updates over the next couple of days!!!

This weather is beautiful and this fall has been ideal for packing away all our fields and gardens. Adding compost in the fall is like extra insurance to make sure all the soil bugs have lots of nutrients for the winter months and will have plenty of nutrients available for next years crop.
