This is my Great grandma’s (who passed away just shy of her 107th birthday) brother, Flight Lieutenant, Wallace Hilton Brown, he served with the Royal Canadian ...Air Force & was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his unfailing bravery during WW2. Uncle Wallace had already served his time & was free to return to Canada, but insisted on staying & fighting until the end. His end came while he & his crew were patrolling the Bay of Biscay, France, the night before D-Day when their plane failed to returned. Missing after air operation Jun 6, 1944- We are proud & thankful Canadians Thanks Uncle Wallace for ultimate sacrifice & your part in our freedom. I am so grateful for ALL the men & woman who fought for our freedom today we honour you all! My parents were lucky enough la few years ago to go to Runnymede Memorial in London, England where uncle Wallace & 250,000 war hero’s are commemorated. See more
