Hi All, as you know the City of Kawartha Lakes has formed an off road vehicle task force to look at the possibility of opening more roads in the City of Kawartha Lakes this spring. One of our goals is to hopefully find a way to connect through the town of Lindsay. The meetings are going well but they are looking for public input and it's your turn to step up and do your part. The city staff has set up an ORV Jump In page for you to get more information on what we're doing o...r watch the meeting videos on Youtube. Go to https://jumpinkawarthalakes.ca/orv. On the Jump In page is an email address link to send feedback that will then be shared with the Task Force Committee. I'm asking that those of you who live/cottage in the City of Kawartha Lakes and ride the trails send an email to the task force explaining what it would mean to you to be able to ride from your home/cottage to the trails and also access food or gas. Indicate whereabouts you live/cottage within the city so that we can see where people want to ride from. It would be helpful to know if you're retired or you ride as a family to show the diversity of our riding community. Most importantly be respectful and positive in your email. The councilors on the task force are doing a great job but they need to know that the majority of riders are responsible individuals and there is a tremendous support for opening more roads in our community because generally they only hear from the people opposed to it. For those of you who don't live/cottage here, it's a great opportunity to show the task force how much money you spend in the community when you visit as Tourism is important to our community, especially in the shoulder seasons in spring and fall.
