The Lotus Centre (formerly Central Nova Women’s Resource Centre) got its start in 1999, founded by a group of women working together in a class at the NSCC Trur...o Campus. Today they are proud to continue to provide supports, services, and resources to the women and girls in our community free of charge. These supports include one-on-one support sessions with our women’s support worker, advocacy, accompaniment, empowerment-based programming, referrals to other community agencies, as well as access to free gently used clothing and hygiene supplies (tampons, pads, shampoo, soap, etc.). Please note that due to Covid19 restrictions they are currently offering their services remotely; either online, over the telephone, or with contactless pick up for hygiene supplies. Summary: The Early Childhood Educator will plan, organize, and implement programs for children by participating in the Nova Scotia Quality Matters initiative an...d working in harmony with the centre's philosophy.
