Do you like to paint? Then have we got a job for you! As a cost saving measure we're making doors and ripping baseboard and door and window trim out of MDF and poplar. Let us know when you're coming and we'll have a brush ready for you. This past Sunday was quite a productive day. There's still a lot of work to do but there's light at the end of the tunnel. There are also costs that still need to be covered so if you are able we would appreciate your support for this project.

Last Sunday we posted a picture that the drywall stage has begun. It's definitely an exciting stage because it looks like the house is taking shape, and it is. But a lot of work remains before we can hand this project back to Jane for her to enjoy. We need help throughout the next stages. There's a lot of drywall that needs to be hung and this coming Sunday would be a great time for "I don't know what I'm doing but I'm willing to help" kind of people. We expect to be there mo...st of the day and could really use the help of about 10 of those type of people. Please let us know if you can come and if you can't let us know, just show up! We'll take it! If you think that's the only thing going on, the house is ready to have siding put on and the weather looks like it's going to be beautiful! (in a relative sort of a way ) And if you're not local to be able to help physically we are still in need of donations to cover the expenses of materials that need to be purchased. It's started...

Today the temperatures are a little below zero but the inside is becoming a lot more bearable. The interior walls around the bedrooms have been insulated (for sound), the vapour barrier on the ceiling should be mostly complete by the end of the day, and all of the electrical outlets have been touched up with a bit of expanding foam. It's even able to hold a bit more heat with the vapour barrier on the ceiling.

It's not that things haven't been happening at Jane's House, it's just that there's not "Wow!" amounts of visible things since we've last posted. All or mostly all of the interior partitions are in and you can see what the rooms will look like and hopefully by the end of today all the electrical and plumbing rough-ins will be completed. The electrical inspection is scheduled for this Thursday and likely the pre-vapour barrier inspection. After that things will LOOK like there's progress. Some of you might have some quality issues. Please let us know if you can view it properly.
