And now, a few words from my foster parents: Baron has specific needs when it comes to feeding him. Currently in his foster home he is fed cup twice a day alone in the kitchen where he has a ritual of playing and hiding the kibble, that he goes through. This process takes approx 15 mins for him to finish his meal. He can’t have another dog trying to get to the food while he takes his time finishing his meal. It appears that Baron has been beaten while he ate so up till now eating was not a pleasant experience. If Baron is put in a new environment he will not eat and has to be coaxed with giving him liver snacks and the adding kibble slowly. We feel Baron would do best in a home that is not real busy and has a routine so he can become even more confident and secure. His forever family would have to be agile and know they would have to commit to giving him the space, time and understanding to rewire this thinking that meal time is a good time.
