Janice Walker Yoga and Wellness:Atma Prema 07.12.2020

Super excited to share all my new knowledge and skills with everyone - in regular practise with me but especially in my Sunday night YIN classes. This was an intensive 50 hour course I took in the past ten days. It was a humbling experience to learn new ways and I do some things I learned in my first 200 hours of training. Enjoying my Yin course this week from a Canadian Bernie Clark. I always used to wonder what is the difference between mindfulness and meditation and thought they were the same. Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake in present moment - doing what we do every day like walking, eating, talking. However we learn to do with awareness of what we are doing consciously. We choose to be in the moment ! Pay attention by noticing details like sensations in your body, the breathe, sounds around you, emotions, thoughts. Repetition builds this muscle of being in the moment. So worth it as it can bring you joy and peace.

Want to feel like this cuddly stuffed toy? All relaxed and loose ?? Join me Sunday nights for a delicious YIN practice via zoom 8-9 pm Saskatchewan time . Usually do every Sunday and each week we focus on a different area. You may ask....what is YIN? Yin is unique in that you hold the poses for an extended period of time and as you find stillness the muscles, ligaments find space and the pose takes you deeper into the myofascial tissue allowing your body to release. Thre...e important points: find stillness (in the pose and your body), hold pose (like goldilocks - not too much so it hurts or you feel twinges and not too little), use your breath to guide the release. If you are interested: message, text or call me for the zoom link. Cost is $15 via etransfer. Then tune in Sunday evening with your mat, blanket, bolster and pillows, soft relaxing music, perhaps some essential oils and candles and be prepared for a wonderful hour - all about you. See more

Today I am celebrating - nothing much happened that is incredible, nor milestonish, but I am celebrating none the less. It is the in between celebrating that can bring joy to our day and make milestone and special occasions even more special. So today I celebrate my delicious Nespresso coffee AND my fabulous smart handy hubby who was able to fix our truck for $45 and it honestly hasn’t been this quiet in years AND my lovely daughter-in-law who loaned us her vehicle yesterday when the truck broke. I am curious what will you celebrate today ?? ......A day that can be ordinary made extraordinary by mindfully choosing joy!? Namaste And much love to you all !
