Many clients say that they feel stuck, unable to cope, heal, find purpose, or move forward after separation and divorce. Victor Frankl taught that meaning is a changeable construct. It can be altered, influenced, and changed. That’s the good news . It’s normal to feel stuck after the difficult transition of a relationship breakdown. You don’t have to stay where you are. #JaniceMaeTherapy #Courage #Authenticity #Meaning #Separation #OakvilleOntario #Divorce #divorcetherapy #grieftherapy #oakvilletherapist #ifeelstuck #moveforward #heal #oakvillecounselling #onlinetherapy #ontariotherapist

A client explained to me once that when they shared something important with their mother, she would change the subject. When you grow up with an emotional unavailable mother there is an impact in the way you view the world. Here's a wonderful article that helps you know what to do with that experience now that you're an adult.
Its a powerful moment when we challenge what we have once believed....and we determine no more ....be quiet critical voice.... I am enough. #growth #traumaticgrowth #healing #criticalvoice #authenticity #courage #meaning #loss #beginagain #startover #selfcompassion #janicemaetherapy #ontariocanada @ Oakville, Ontario
Thank you for this beautiful print by my daughter @kiitamine & @delakiit. In my practice I have the privilege to work with people through some of their most difficult life transitions. Grief has been experienced by so many in both obvious and unseen ways this year. Loss has been felt acutely by those who’s loved ones passed away. #covid #grief #loss #healing #janicemaetherapy
I love how @hannahbrencher explains this. Swipe for her quote. Many years ago I had my own therapist use this metaphor to help me consider how I wanted to repack my backpack for the rest of my journey. #values #meaning #courage #lifetransitions #growth #authenticity #beginagain #newbeginning #freshstart #reflection #janicemaetherapy #divorcerecovery #loss #grief #oakvilleontario #ontariotherapist #ontariocanada @ Oakville, Ontario
As an existentialist therapist I consider myself a fellow traveller. Each client’s pain is unique and no one else can truly comprehend its depth. All I can do is come along side. Stay near. Be there for the toughest bits. Stay till the clouds break and the light gets in again. This applies to friendship too. #grief #loss #death #divorce #transitions #life #healing #change #courage #authenticity #meaning #janicemaetherapy #ontariocanada #oakvilleontario #hamiltonontario #burlingtonontario
There seems to be some dispute on who wrote this beautiful poem, "Tis a Fearful Thing" Some say it was Yahuda Helevi (1075 - 1141) and other say no in fact its a modern poem written in English, by Rabbi Chaim Stern, a great Reform Jewish liturgist who died in 2001. Either way, the words are moving and may resonate for you if you ae grieving the loss of a loved one. #grief #griefjourney #griefrecovery #janicemaetherapy #lossandgrief #mourning #sadness #sad #whoaminow #existentialquestions #exestentialtherapy #meaning #courage #tragedy #healing #janicemaetherapy #oakvilleontario #ontariocanada #ontariotherapist #psycotherapy
Your uniqueness is the gift you have to offer. No one can be you and this is not a dress rehearsal. @ Oakville, Ontario
