On this day last year, I met Willa the Whale. I was hoping she’d stay longer, but sadly her time on earth was short.

When I visited Central Alberta Pride in Red Deer in 2019, I met with a young queer student who shared their story of how they were dismissed by their school administration when they bravely shared their sexuality. Policies matter. They do. By voting down this motion, Red Deer Public Schools have sent a message to the LGBTQ2S+ community. This isn’t about adults being uncomfortable. This is about young people’s safety.

Calling constituents and just talked to 94-year-old Jack, who reports that this UCP government is the worst he’s ever seen in his life and he’s going to do all he can to get Rachel back in as our Premier. Jack’s getting a membership. You should too!

Another celebrity joins in calls to stop the UCP from moving forward with their regressive coal plans. This time, the remarkable k.d. lang. Add her voice to the many other Albertans who are speaking out. For once, do the right thing, Jason Kenney.

Pay attention to what the UCP does. So far, they’ve shown that supporting families and a real economic recovery is far from a priority.

I feel like a broken record sometimes, but I’d forgotten about this run-down of all the ways the UCP is hurting women. We mustn’t forget their recordbecause that’s exactly what they’re hoping for in the next election.

Rachel Notley and David Shepherd will respond to reports of secret recordings that show Jason Kenney and the UCP have repeatedly overruled the public health advice of Dr. Deena Hinshaw, and they will call for new accountability and transparency measures.

At a time when COVID cases have never been higher, a UCP MLA is telling her constituents the worst of the pandemic is behind us. This is more than unhelpful. This is dangerous.

1,155 new cases of COVID today in Albertaa record high. 11 new deaths. Each day, the news is more dire. I worry we are desensitized by these numbers. COVID is real. The human impact is real. It’s not good enough to say we’re in this together unless we really are.

There it is, folks. The truth is out, and it’s bad: ...the chief medical officer of health doesn't have control of the pandemic response...decisions are being made by persons who shouldn't be making decisions.
