Today is #SetsubunNoHi , the day of the Bean-Throwing Festival which marks the start of the spring season or risshun (according to the lunar calendar) in ...Japan. Most years the festival falls on February 3rd however this year, for the first time in 124 years, it’s on the 2nd! https://bit.ly/39TXMvW Most of setsubun’s traditional rituals revolve around beans, as beans are considered very lucky. People take part in a traditional mame-maki ceremony wherein they throw roasted soybeans over their shoulder while shouting ‘‘Oni wa Soto Fuku wa Uchi’’ (Get out Ogre! Come in Happiness!). Many temples across Japan hold mame-maki events. In February last year, sumo wrestlers and kabuki actors participated in the ceremony at Naritasan Shinshoji, a major Buddhist temple in Narita, Chiba Prefecture. This year, shrines throughout Japan have either cancelled or scaled down events.

We already know #Okinawa is Japan's paradise, away from the bustling cities. There's even an "Unattended Cafe" where there is no staff on the premises, and they have everything provided that the customers may need and the owners trust patrons to pay by dropping money into a box. Would you visit this cafe?
