Wednesday looks like an amazing day to see some storms in and around the Regina area. This system is not especially powerful, at least not showing any large num...bers except for a big temperature swing in Regina. The NAM Nest shows 89F/32C at 2pm and 66F/19C at 3pm, composite radar confirms multi cells initiating over Saskatchewan Landing in 3 waves which cross southern Saskatchewan during the late afternoon and evening hours. Best place to spot storms might be Diefenbaker Lake once again. The NAM model shows this system extends north, including Saskatoon to La Ronge and east from there. To the west of that line into central Alberta the storms will begin this afternoon and progress east into the night. One thing of note: Forecast models have been missing location but maintaining strength within about 200km. So it could be way off but remember, June 24th begins the last week of June and Prime Time Tornado Season on the Canadian Prairies! Everything is possible. #skstorm See more

Looking at the long term outlook, it will take a few days to begin building storm energy after this past system took most of the energy out of the atmosphere. T...he chance of seeing supercells will return with the heat, possibly next Wedensday along the foothills. Until then, it looks fairly mild and calm for most. Good time to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. Biking, hiking, fishing, nature walking... just get out and breathe that fresh air. You never know what kind of creatures you might find! Adventure Tuesday - Strange Creatures of a Secret Nature Preserve So I bought a fishing license today and decided to check out the Condie Nature Preserve just ...north west of the city. Arriving just before sundown (I had spent most of my time trying to find the best route by bike) there was little time to do more than look around. Finding a number of people fishing along the shore, I decided to head back east towards the city but through dense shrubbery inside the nature preserve to find a better fishing spot. Almost as soon as I got out of earshot of the closest human, I looked up and saw a large porcupine and its baby. Further up along the lake shore I found two deer as well. This was a short visit that makes me want to come back and spend a good amount of time fishing and exploring. The nature preserve area is very large with a lake almost the size of Wascana with washrooms, paths, parking, and I thought I saw a bbq... The calm sunset before the wind storm. Every frame on this timelapse is stunning! I had to leave as soon as the wind picked up and dropped the temperature fast.... You can see the wind crosses the lake in waves at the end. Looking at forecast models, wind gusts up to 80km/hr (damaging) are expected near midnight Saturday in central Saskatchewan including Regina and Saskatoon. See more
