The Motive Power Centre of Excellence at Annacis Island Campus is BCIT's newest location, and opened to students in September 2014. The 142,000-square-foot facility trains heavy-duty mechanics, transport trailer mechanics, diesel mechanics, commercial transportation mechanics, railway conductors and forklift operators. The centre also houses a 109-tonne (120-ton) MAN Engine that provides students in a number of programs with relevant, hands-on learning experience.

The Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health is a partnership of the Brain Research Centre, UBC Faculty of Medicine, and Vancouver Coastal Health. It brings together, for the first time under one roof, all the multidisciplinary areas of brain health. The building is 5 storeys with a basement and includes an auditorium, clinical areas, offices and research labs. The LEED Gold registered building features state of the art power, communications, security and lighting including extensive use of LED, daylight harvesting, automatic occupancy controls and integration with the BMS.

The 8.4 million dollar addition is complete! This addition accommodates another 300 students bringing the occupancy up to 1400 students and provides a solution to the growing masses of portable classrooms. The open concept design includes energy efficient lighting and heat reflecting roof materials to add to the already environmentally ideal design.

Construction nearly complete!

This new 76,000 s.f. flagship facility includes 19 service work bays and a Pre-Owned indoor showroom that accommodates up to 26 vehicles. The building also includes electric vehicle charging stations, a sun-reflective rooftop parking area and a green screen planting wall surrounding the parkade.

Congratulations on the grand opening of Matthews House. Much time and effort from many groups went into making this dream a reality and we feel very privileged to have contributed a small part in this project.

This new 54,000 ft school has capacity for 450 K - 7 students and is built to LEED Gold standards. The 12.8 million dollar design features exposed BC wood beams, bright colours, large windows to bring daylight into the centre of the building, and a large open concept gymnasium which is the focal point of the school. Another additional benefit of the new construction is a Neighbourhood Learning Centre that will facilitate a Montessori program and day care for before and after school care.

This school is part of the new family of UBC University Hill schools, offering a continuum of education from early kindergarten to grade 12, with access to post-secondary enrichment studies. The primary focus of the Vancouver School Board for the design of this school was to incorporate 21st Century Learning concepts. The School is targeting LEED Gold certification and include state of the art lighting, controls, audio-visual and communication systems.

James Park Elementary has capacity for 310 K - 5 students and is built to LEED Gold standards. The school also supports the B.C. Wood First Initiative by having a wood roof, wood panelling in the hallways and wood trim throughout the school. A feature of the new construction is the added space for pre-kindergarten, a Neighbourhood Learning Centre and a Strong Start Centre, which will deliver a variety of community-based services.

This new school is being constructed on the old University Hills Secondary school site on Acadia Road in Vancouvers Dunbar neighborhood . It will have capacity for 60 full-day kindergarten spaces, 650 Grade 1 7 student spaces and 150 Grade 8 student spaces. The building will also provide additional space for Neighborhood Learning Centre and Early Learning initiatives.

This two-storey addition to the existing school building features four regular Teaching Classrooms, four Kindergarten Classrooms, two Special Education Rooms, as well as additional washrooms and storage space.

This $38 million replacement school of the 1964 Carson Graham was officially opened in October 2012 and is being heralded as one of the most technically advanced in the province, offering a robotics and pre-engineering lab, computer animation design facilities, a full professional teaching kitchen, computer labs and high-tech audiovisual and data systems for classrooms. The school is targeting LEED Gold certification and incorporates state of the art lighting and control, communications, security and life safety systems.
