Where do I start.. 3 months and 20 pounds later and I could not be more proud of my man Spencer. He came to me with big goals and a whole lot of questions. As a high level athlete in football and powerlifting we knew that he has massive potential. We just had to get his mind right! I think the hardest part of weight loss for a naturally larger man, is learning how to stop thinking of themselves as a Big Dude. The immediate fear of losing strength and the confidence in... your ability to handle your own as a big guy is threatened as your frame changes. But we took our time, did not restrict certain foods and kept calories high to maintain as much muscle mass as possible. We focused on progressive overload and getting stronger as he packed on lean muscle. The guy just smashed a new 3RM bench PR at 265 with gas left in the tank! And last but not least we maximized his conditioning with short rest times and HIIT training which offers far greater EPOC (energy expenditure post workout) and more freedom to add more in as necessary down the road. Non of this would be possible without Spencer’s trust in the process self discipline to stay consistent. He built more than a better body, he has built a stronger mind and healthier sustainable habits. But the best is yet to come, let’s get this work!!!! Wanted to show some love for my client and long term friend @cello.mxviii How’s that for a 6 week transformation!! The focus is progress, not perfection. Since Joscels schedule has become extremely demanding working 60-80hrs a week his health has began to slip. Making it more challenging to eat right and achieve quality workouts. I have known Joscel for almost 10 years, he has always been the type to go ALL IN or NOT AT ALL. Which is why before we started we had a long disc...ussion and set firm expectations. Which helped him realize that going ALL IN under the current circumstances looks extremely different than when he had less on his plate. We communicated on ways to manage his time better and educated him on how to adjust his nutrition while on the go. I built him a 3 day full body workout program with a variety of methods to make the most of his time while working around some nagging injuries.
