Surround yourself with things that bring you joy. Meet Horatio. I created his wall piece to highlight his wise and majestic personality, expressive eyes, and love of his local park. In Horatio's senior years he has difficulty controlling his hind legs. He and I were not going to let that get in the way of a great photoshoot. At his consultation appointment, I learned about his many funny expressions, playful personality, and what would make an ideal art piece. Being in his ...golden years, we wanted to create an art piece to remember him by and would always spark joy. His mom couldn't decide between my two styles, studio and on-location, so I suggested we do an outdoor shoot at a meaningful park. For a dog that has difficulty moving, I like to shoot outdoors where the possible settings are endless. Seeing as Horatio has difficulty walking, a well-choreographed shoot was key to get the variety I was after while not tiring him out. I wanted an easy circuit with minimal walking between shots. My dog Ella loves to explore, so I took her along for the location scouting. At the local park, we found beautiful fall trees, open green fields, colourful leaf piles, backlight meadows, and graphic landscapes. At the break of dawn, Horatio showed up for his big day. Noisemakers, toys and camera ready to go, we danced through the familiar park valley. Horatio was a champ, enjoying all the attention and fell in love with a turtle. A stuffed, plush, squeaky dog toy turtle that is. He liked it so much, we sent him home with it. When you and your dog are ready to capture some memories together in a high-impact wall piece, be sure to reach out. We are currently booking for spring sessions. See more

"Oh, What's that?!?" Meet Rosie - an energetic spaniel covid-puppy. Her engagement gift studio session was a blast. The exuberance and curiosity reflected in her wall piece even make my ears perk up. What do you say to get your dog to perk up? For my pooch Ella its "Where's Janet?" (Janet's partner always has a bag full of meat for Ella to snack on :P) DM to learn about our wall pieces, gift-giving options and how we are keeping safe during our studio sessions. #torontodogsofinstagram #torontodogs #dogart #englishspringerspaniel

Happy 2021. Meet Sami - the soulful grey labrador retrieve. Sami's mom is both an accomplished painter and passionate art collector, with a focus on photo-based art. Oy vey - I'm going to have my work cut out for me to impress her. We had an enchanting mid-summer backyard session capturing Sami's big smile, glowing eyes and sweet demeanour. DM to learn more about our outdoor covid-safe sessions and our custom coffee table books. #labradorretriever #torontodogsofinstagram #torontodogs #dogart

At the beginning of every session, I ask my client where they are thinking of hanging their custom artwork. I suggest a place where they spend a bunch of time or a location that will catch their eye as they pass by. Casidy's mom wanted her metal piece to hang in her luxurious spa washroom, where she relaxed every weekend. Samson's mom chose the top of her staircase, which she passes by many times a day. Where would you want to hang a portrait of your pet?... These two 'cousin' pooches had a blast at their session. Swipe for some outtakes :D @ Rosedale

Classic yet playful - that was my goal with Cooper. We were so excited for Cooper to join us in the studio not just because he is the most adorable Papillonion puppy I have ever laid my eyes on, but because his mom is a returning client and we got to catch up. Their home aesthetic is a mix of classic and modern - panelled wood office with floor to ceiling bookshelves, and also double story living room with glass railings and hidden closet doors. I aimed to capture this dual ...style in his photos - the classic, strong poses and bust-shots, with more dynamic movement photos. The diptych will hang in the office, accompanying previous canvases of their beloved Spaniels. The vertical triptych will adorn their bedroom wall down south. Now, swipe to the end and tell me who is cuter in the comments - Angus or Cooper? :D #papillon #toronto #art #dogsoftoronto #puppy @ Toronto, Ontario

Captivating - that was my main goal with Fern's photoshoot. I wanted my art to be as captivating as her lively yet soulful eyes. As late summer approaches, the changing daylight reminds me of this spring morning last year that we spent romping around her beautiful garden. Sadly, we had to say goodby to Fern just a few short months after the session at the incredible age of 17 (if my memory services me correct). I'm honoured to have my work hanging prominently in her parents' kitchen, bringing a smile to their faces every day. #toronto #dog #torontodogs #bordercollie #dogphotographer @ Toronto, Ontario

Woah - haven’t posted in way too long. Back in January, Cola visited us in studio to celebrate his 1st birthday. He had a blast chasing toys and eating all the treats he could handle. Dogs are such a big part of our life - we should celebrate every occasion we can. Our dog Ella is a rescue so we don’t know her exact birthday. If you have a rescue dog, do you celebrate their ‘gotcha’ day?... Swipe to check out his special birthday photo. @ Toronto, Ontario

Strolling through my local dog park, visiting a favourite campsite on the French River, or a friend's cottage, when I reminisce about my golden Sebastian, all these places come to mind. The connection between joyous memories and specific locations is visceral for me. As my business approaches the one decade mark, we have been expanding our offerings to create art that highlights your animals in significant locations. I don't have my 'Go-To' locati...ons - I shoot in yours. East Ender Nugget spends his days visiting the Toronto waterfront. The towering trees, fall colours, chilly lake, an abundance of sticks - this is his spot. I'm honoured to capture these memories. What location would you choose for your animal's photoshoot? I'm always on the lookout for the best products available, and recently I had to find a new printer for my canvases as my previous supplier reduces its size offerings. After searching throughout North America, I'm thrilled that a printer out in Calgary worked with me to make precisely what I'm after - a glowing textured piece with a matt finish that crisply reproduces all the details while offering a traditional feel. #torontophotographer #torontodogs #ontariodogs #toronto #torontopetportrait#torontopetphotographer#torontopetphotography#torontodogphotographer #dogsofinstagram #dogscorner #dogdailyfeaturesss #inspiredbypets #bordercolliesofinstagram #bordercollies @ Toronto, Ontario See more

Returning Client Alert! This is a throwback. I photographed these two English Setters almost 9 years ago . No, I don't feel old - thank you very much! Just last week, their mom came to us for some new photos of her Papillon. Keep an eye out for them. Did you know the original purpose of the English Setter was to 'set' or point to game birds? Instead of giving chase, they pointed to the birds in a specific stance and only on command, would disturb the birds into flight.... Ha - I wonder if my dog's command of 'leave it' when there is pizza crust on the ground would make her any good at working in the field?? Nah - the squirrels always get her attention. #torontophotographer #torontodogs #ontariodogs #toronto #torontopetportrait #torontopetphotographer #torontopetphotography #torontodogphotographer #dogsofinstagram #dogdailyfeaturesss #inspiredbypets #mydogiscutest #sausagedogcentral #petfancy #dogs #petstagram #instadog #petsagram #doglover #dogs_of_instagram #instagramdogs #pup #dogoftheday #ilovemydog #instapuppy #dogstagram #lovedogs #lovepuppies #pets #englishsetter @ Toronto, Ontario See more
