Because Jasper is surrounded by forests, it is important that we all work together to protect our homes and neighbourhoods from wildfire by cleaning up our yards and balconies to remove items that could spread fire to our homes. We call that being FireSmart! ... On May 1, the Municipality of Jasper is asking ALL Jasper residents to spend some time cleaning up their yards and balconies. Cultural Kitchens is taking you on a journey to Mauritius this month! Mauritius is a country in the Indian Ocean, located off the eastern coast of South Africa. It is known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs. The mountainous interior includes Black River Gorges National Park, with rainforests, waterfalls, hiking trails and wildlife like the flying fox. Our special guest chef on April 25 is Jerome Damien Joyeuse. He said: "I would love to bring my traditional and amazing cuis...ine to the community of Jasper to discover some delicious dishes from my beloved islands."
