Members, friends and partners: We have received unfortunate news that a team member has tested positive for Covid-19 and as a result the Chamber office will be closed for the next two business weeks. In case you missed it: Premier Kenny has just announced returning to phase 1 of reopening. Indoor dining is restricted beginning noon on Friday, April 9, 2021. Business of the week Bear’s Paw Bakery Bear’s Paw Bakery has been around since 1997 and owned by Kim Stark since 2002. The Other Paw Bakery was started by Kim in 2007. Both bakeries are an integral part of the community and a must stop for our regional visitors as well. It has been pleasure to serve this community and give back as often as possible with donations and support of local events. We have seen lots of changes happen both with our menu expanding and the growt...h of coffee culture. Along with the favourites such as our raspberry white chocolate scone and sticky bun we will be adding a new line up of delicious cake and cheesecake flavours to our menu starting just before summer. In hopes of keeping up with the times we will also be featuring a new point of sales system, new digital menus, and a pager system for customer pick up of items ordered. COVID has cetainly slowed down things at the bakery this fall and winter but we have tried to make the best of it by seeing it as an opportunity to refresh and fine tune our inner working systems and giving us an opportunity to have the back of the house run smoother while still giving great service and producing everyones favourite treats. While we are encouraging shopping tonight and spending local, we would like to stress the importance of social distancing. Please respect all signage and store policies while enjoying your evening. Some helpful tips: If a store is full, move on and loop back later! ... Use the hand sanitizer provided on your way in and way out of each store. Keep in mind all restaurants are mandated to stop serving at 10 pm. So plan accordingly! Stay 6 feet away from other shoppers. Don’t forget your mask, it is mandatory in the Jasper downtown core (for those coming from regional locations) And lastly, have fun!! Heads up everyone. Enhanced means restaurants and bars must cease service at 10 pm and close by 11 pm. At this time these restrictions are in place for all enhanced areas in the province effective November 13-27.
