The Johnny Appleseed Project 11.09.2020

Hi everyone. We are out picking apples and pears this weekend, to benefit Wild life Rescue, and local food banks. So far this year we are up to about 400 pounds, for the baby deer. This weekend main focus is on food banks, secondary wildlife rescue. Hoping to do at least 500 pounds of fruit. We need volunteers still, we will be picking two locations, so we need all the help we can get. If your interested in volunteering for 1 hour let me know and I’ll arrange times based on volunteers availablility. Cheers everyone.

Hi Everybody! I know its short notice, but we will be doing an apple picking this Sunday Aug 26th at 2pm. We are meeting at the two apple trees in the park at 1st Ave and 2nd St. The goal is to pick 25 pounds for the food bank. The rest will go to feed some hungry baby deer. If any one feels like putting in an hour of apple picking this weekend for a good cause. You can either get in contact with us at [email protected], or just meet us there at 2pm. Cheers and have a great day every one!

These injured and orphaned baby deer. Have been bottled fed by humans, up until a couple of days ago. It was necessary for their survival. That is why they seem so receptive to humans. Using donated locally grown apples in part. They are now being weened from the bottle, and being taught to forage for food. Once they become more independent. They will be moved to a new pen, with 5 other baby deer, and an endangered swift fox. Were they will no longer have human contact until they are released. Over the winter the donated apples will continue to make a healthy natural food source. These deer will be released summer 2018.
