One of Orchids hippos!!
2 more litters born yesterday! VAAN HALEN had 4 for her first littler and plucked so much hair you’d think she’d be bald! R2R AURORA had 5 all solids surprisingly. Orchids’ are now 10 days old eyes are opening and are MONSTERS!!
My heart! One of Orchid’s chunky little hippos!
Halo has moved on to a new home! I know she is going to be loved and receive the best care. She is going to be used in a 4-H breeding project!
Going to make this tomorrow! Trying something different. https://pin.it/1Kq9VHw
If there is anyone wanting to add some mature proven rabbits into their herd or are looking to start raising meat rabbits of your own please contact me! I have a mature buck and 2-3 proven does that I would like to move on.
Hey all! I’m still here doing my thing!! life has thrown me curveballs and got a little messy, and I wasn’t feeling very enthusiastic about the rabbits for a while there. My plans have changed slightly and I have been downsizing my herd. I am keeping a couple proven experienced rabbits and some new young stock. I am very excited about my spring breeding plans. This boy pictured below has relit my love of rabbits. He is my 5 month old replacement buck who is the result of repeating the same breeding 3x over because I knew the result I was wanting was in there. I finally got him, a buck with beautiful colour, sheen and texture who is a huge improvement from his dad! I’m so excited to see how he produces in the spring!
Bunny treats, cute faces, and entertainment! The bonus of having a new deck project on the go is all the timber trim ends! The rabbits love to chew on them and toss them around!
Picked up this girl today! VAAN Halen 11 week old copper satin doe. Her momma is from the same lines that I brought back from Alberta.
Halo’s babies are growing up and getting to peak cuteness!!
This girl will be staying. now to pick a name...
Halo had 10 babies this morning!
First guy I’m liking a lot, the second one lots of depth just on the smaller side, and then the last 2 are just ugly..
Too bad that shoulder is so long... but dang those hind quarters!
Cleo likes to supervise the small bunnies while I stack and mess with them...
Another buck, not sure about all the cream though.
I really like this buck.
Cute copper doe.
This girls coat is.... different to say the least! Maybe Rex off the pedigree ?
Exciting stuff! 5 week old Satin x NZ doe! I see some potential there!
Some really good points here!
New to me cages! My afternoon project today was getting these cleaned up and sanitized. Now I’m wishing all my cages were stackers like these!
These two are 4 weeks old and are Goldie babies. broken Opal (buck I’m pretty sure) and copper (doe I think)!
Not looking too bad for 7 weeks old!
Came home to 6 fat little hippos from Aurora! fostered 2 from Orchid to Aurora to even things out.
So here’s a story: I go and check the rabbits this morning and my heart sinks as I found Orchid had kindled last night and there is 6 babies ice cold and dead laying in the front of the nest box... so I reach into the nest at the back expecting 1 or 2 more kits and discovered EIGHT MORE healthy and warm kits in the nest! I gathered the cold ones and take them in and find out that 3 are still alive!!! I got them warm and breathing and wiggley so they got put back in with the rest of the nest. I still can’t believe she had 14 kits!
Elsa had 8 fat babies this afternoon!
Poor Eve she’s a good momma! Babies are 5 weeks old and still chasing her down to nurse.
