Laps in Judgement Studios is excited to congratulate our friends at Immersion Plus on their first video game, Project Boost, featuring the voice work of our very own Jayson Stewart (heavily heard in this newest trailer). Get it on Steam and play it on PC. Mac and mobile versions are in the works. The game launches on April 18th!

Project Boost is a new video game in development by Mauritius-based production company Immersion Plus. They hired me to do voicework as the lead villain in the game! You can see a screenshot of my character at 5m51s and then hear my name mentioned as part of the voiceover team starting at 9m05s. It is from a show, One on One, on the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). https://www.facebook.com/immersionpage/videos/449980816164969/

The humans in Avatar are, by in large, a terrible species. There's little doubt that the colonization of Indigenous land and people is being heavily mocked/parodied/mirrored in the film. The Na'vi are, of course, blue-skinned Indigenous folk who are to be exterminated by the military from Earth. One subtle set design/camera framing detail I always enjoyed was when Colonel Quaritch is addressing the troops newly arrived to Pandora. The mechanical equipment and shutters are a send-up to General George Patton's speech to the 3rd Army in the 1970 film Patton starring George C. Scott.

I just finally got the chance to watch KNIVES OUT, written and directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, and Christopher Plummer. There have been so few masterfully written and acted murder mystery who-dunits in the past few decades and this stands out as one of the best. I won't give away any spoilers but was most impres...sed by the performance of Daniel Craig as private investigator Benoit Blanc. His Kentucky drawl and quirky approach to the murder investigation of Harlan Thrombey (Plummer) drew me in and makes me want to see more of him in the role. I'm excited to see that there is sequel in the works as I found Craig to be immensely more approachable and believable than in any of his Bond films and a character I could listen to all day. Once you know the "who" and the "how" in a murder mystery film like this, there's usually little to inspire you to rewatch the film but there's still a lof of meat on the bone and I'm sure I'll be watching KNIVES OUT again soon.
