MPIO usually does not present this type of award as we are doing here, however due to Rob’s circumstances, we wanted to ensure that he receives this honor prior... to it being mailed. Rob from all the team at MPIO we hope you are doing well and hope to see you back soon posting your images and talking about your adventures. We are all thinking of you. MPIO NEWS RELEASE: J.R. Robert Wiebe receives Lifetime Mentorship Achievement Award from the Master Photographers International Organization It is with great honor that we present J.R. Robert Wiebe with the MPIO Lifetime Mentorship Achievement Award. Robert has been in the photographic industry since 1977 where he started his career as a wedding and fashion photographer. If you had attended the University of Alberta in the 70's and 80's you may have attended one of his guest lectures on topics of photography. Robert started getting more creative with his photography after the birth of the digital camera and the newer software then released. He enjoys blending the world of computer technology and photography. As he continued learning he transitioned more towards Nature Photography accompanied by Event Photography. Over the years he has met numerous seasoned and novice photographers. He has enjoyed mentoring and teaching and constantly making new connections as his photography career grew. More recently his work includes Cultural Photographer for the 2010 Arctic Winter games in Grande Prairie, Alberta The2011 Annual Dinosaur Ball The 2013 Dinosaur Ball as official photography for Dan Aykroyd and friends The 2014 Philip J Curie Museum Amber Ball. The Alberta Northwest Skills Competition for 2010, 2011 and 2012 The official Photographer for the Chamber of Commerce in Grande Prairie for 2013 and 2014 Robert received his MPIO Designation with Master Photographers International in 2014. We are impressed with how much Robert has done for the photographic community in his area and are honored to present him with this Lifetime Mentorship Achievement Award.

September 9, 2016. I know that many of you see me in so many different lights. What you rarely see is my tears after everyone has left the house, or in the middle of the night. You don't see me sobbing in my wife's lap, so scared and worried about everything. You don't see me having to leave a light on at night because I get claustrophobic with terror over a dream, or a feeling difficulty breathing. You don't see the moment of sadness flicker across my face when someone says something that makes me fight back tears. Yes, I try to be upbeat, inspirational, but I'm not superman. I'm scared. I sometimes just want to go to sleep and wake up, hoping it is all a bad dream.I love all of you. Thank you so much for following with me and being there.

September 7, 2016. When we are ill, our horizons shrink. We become less concerned about anything beyond the basic comforts of sleeping, eating and excreting. Cancer has begun to raise its ugly head in more tangible fashion. My shortness of breath is becoming a new normal. I haven't been on line much. Yesterday, my wonderful Homecare case Manager, visited and tested, and showed reduced oxygen intake ( I have to get one of those little finger tech things!) as well as no air mo...vement in lower right lung quadrant, the site of a number of cancer lesions. She immediately set up a request for referral through my Doctor for Respiratory Assessment, so I might get oxygen, and a referral to a local oncologist who actually does house calls. She apparently has office hours on Fridays. I am hoping that oxygen will help and bring me back some strength. Meanwhile, I apologize for not replying to messages and text. It is too much effort right now. You always think that you have time. Honestly, I am scared. I don't know how people handle this by themselves. :( See more
