Pssssttt! Hey You! Wanna hear a story? Know what I love? That every piece I do has a story behind it. Maybe you want to hear it, maybe ya don't. It starts w...ith a quote. (And without getting to side tracked, my Grandma always has little funny quotes that she shares with me because it would make a great sign I love how supportive my family and friends are!) I have been thinking about this quote, "Into the forest I Go, to lose my mind and find my soul." for so many months since I seen it on Pinterest (best place for a little inspiration sometimes) Yesterday, on my way to town to get the mail, it came to me! So I IMMEDIATELY went home, like stopped in the middle of the road and turned around and said "screw the mail!" Haha, No, I still went to town. I needed the mail because you know, amazon. But as soon as I got home I looked up these 3 inspirational photos and using these I drew up my OWN design. I transferred the tree to the piece of wood. Then I burned the design in. Then I stained the wood with a grey color. I stained the tree with a dark walnut. Then I drew on every leaf in a pattern resembling the leafs blowing. Then I picked out my 4 primary colors. Burgundy, bronze metallic, shimmering gold and the 4th a mixture of the first 2. And I just divided up the colors with the bronze metallic being the "primary" leaf color. Are you still reading? Does it sound like I know what I am talking about? I'm the definition of fake it till you make it so please let me know when I've made it I went to the computer, figured out my wording, font, font size and placement. Measured and taped them level. Used transfer paper to transfer the words. Then today I painted the letters while I said over and over to my 4.5 year old to "try not to bump the table so much". I highlighted the leaves and did a couple touch ups. Ready To be sealed and hung! I would highly doubt this is the kind of work that goes into anything you buy in your local store's art section. INVEST YOUR MONEY IN THE THINGS OTHER PEOPLE INVEST THEIR TIME IN THAT'S how we can support each other! Thanks for taking the time to read
Still looking for special gifts? Want to give someone a unique basket filled with homemade, home grown food items. I have garlic pickles, dehydrated garlic, lower sugar garden fruit pancake sauce, jams and maybe a bag of beautiful rainbow carrots. Other vendors have other unique items that could go well in a basket. We are in St Norbert’s Market Saturday from 10 to 2. Weather is going to be beautiful! See you there!
