Spent some time on a beautiful day off at the Estevan Humane Society, and the revamped cat wall is now finished, complete with steps and a new wall-mount hammock! Bring on the kitties! Thanks to the staff at EHS for prepping the wall, and to Elizabeth Michel for her seamstress skills.

Well, look who came for breakfast this morning...stray Mr. Grimace...he’s been around the neighborhood for at least a year, and started frequenting Hotel Catifornia this January once the cold snap hit. He’s shy, but meows at me on occasion and after eating the kibs, disappears again. Hopefully he’ll be back a little more this spring.

Today is a day for celebration!! Amid Friday the 13th, politics and the pandemic, I bring you uplifting news about one of my favourite things: cats! Today is the one year anniversary of my first feral stray cat rescue! What started last October as a fun project to upcycle an old bathroom cabinet, turned into a 13 month effort to safely and humanely rescue 10 cats and in large part, their kittens from a cat pod in the my area of town.
