Just a bit of good news to share. Today I had two surprise inspections. One from the province of Ontario and the other from the Chatham Kent health unit. I am happy to say that both were quite satisfied with the safety and disinfecting practices put into place in response to the Covid 19 virus. I will continue to do my best to ensure that I am providing a safe environment for all of my customers during this pandemic and beyond. Happy Sunday everyone! Just wanted to do a little Barbershop update as we continue to adjust to this ongoing COVID reality. I continue to operate, under the strict guidelines implemented by the Chatham-Kent Health Unit, which includes offering service by appointment only. As well, limiting the number of people in the shop to one customer or family at a time.... At this time the Health Unit still requires each customer to wear a mask while receiving service, as social distancing is not possible during a haircut. I am asking each customer to please bring your own mask, if possible, as I only have a limited supply. If you do not have a mask when you arrive for your appointment, one will be provided for you for a small fee of $1.00, to help cover the cost of purchasing more masks. I am also encouraging everyone to try using the online booking system. It is really quite simple and convenient, when you get the hang of it. If you are unable to book online, you can still give me a call or stop by the shop, and I will set you up with an appointment. At this point, there are still many appointments available for this week, July 13th to 18th. Hours: Mon. I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for their patience and cooperation, over the past few weeks, as we all adjust to the many required changes to the way that I am allowed to safely provide service at the barbershop. I have been overwhelmed by your support, and the many words of encouragement. It has been nice to see all the familiar faces, and even a few new ones. I apologize for waiting so long to post these, but I have been waiting to see how much demand there was for haircuts during this Canada Day week, before booking some time off. As it appears I have finally caught up a bit, I decided to close for a few days. Here are the hours for the rest of this week:... With all the mandated cleaning and sanitizing I am required to do, after each client, and to keep appointments on schedule, it has been very difficult to answer the phone while doing haircuts. The extra time required, also means that I am unable to do as many haircuts in a day, as I had done prior to COVID. I understand this may be frustrating for some, and some of you may feel intimidated by the new appointment process. I do apologize, but if you leave a message, I will call you back, as soon as possible. I have been receiving great feedback on the website, and how easy it is to navigate and book your appointment. However, for some, it has been a frustration to figure it out. I think once you have done it once, you will find it is quite easy to work with. As I continue to receive updated information on new restrictions to the way I am allowed provide service, it has been communicated to me that all customers ARE required to wear a face covering during service. I will also not be allowed to provide any service involving the face, with includes beard or eyebrow trims. I appreciate your patience as I try to navigate through all of these changes.... Jeff

Just a quick note about payment options at the Barbershop, that I forgot to mention in my earlier post. At this point, cash payment remains as the only option available. If I find there is a greater demand for cashless payments, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, I will explore other options.

On June 8th, the Government of Ontario announced that it will be lifting restrictions imposed on the operations of hair stylists and barber shops starting June 12th, in our area. As a result of this, the barber shop will officially resume operations on Monday, June 15th. Haircuts will require an appointment, which can be easily scheduled using the online service on my NEW website. GOOD NEWS!! For those of you who have already been trying (unsuccessfully) to schedule an app...ointment, access to my NEW online scheduling for appointments, will be available starting Wednesday, June 10th at 12:00pm (noon). Also, to protect the health and safety of my customers, and nyself, there will be a number of changes to how service is provided in the barber shop. These include, but not limited to: - The number of customers permitted in the shop at one time, will be limited to 1 customer or family at a time. - Appointments will be limited to 1 every half hour. This allows extra time to ensure my work station can be properly cleaned and sanitized, in between customers. - I will be wearing appropriate PPE to ensure the health and safety of customers, and myself. - Customers will be required to wear a mask or face covering while receiving service - any service involving the face such as beard or eyebrow trimming will not be permitted - Hand sanitizer will be provided for customer use upon entering the barber shop. ATTENTION!! If you are experiencing or exhibiting any signs or symptoms that are consistent with COVID-19, including: fever, cough, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, or have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days, the barber shop politely asks that you refrain from scheduling an appointment or entering the building. If you have scheduled an appointment and begin experiencing symptoms, I ask that you cancel and/or reschedule the effected appointment. This will ensure the safety of other customers, as well as myself. If you have any problems trying to book your appointment online, or have any other questions or concerns please contact me, by phone/text, e-mail, or messenger. Just wanted to let everyone know that the barbershop website is now up and running, complete with an easy to use appointment scheduling application for everyone to book their own appointments. We have added the link to the website, here on the Facebook page. Please feel free to check it out, even though the shop still remains closed at this point, by order of the Ontario government, and therefore no appointments are currently available. I am hoping this will help make a smo...other transition, when the time comes, to start to reopen the shop. On another note, it has also unfortunately become necessary at this point, to do a slight price increase to help keep up with the rising cost of operating the business. So effective upon the reopening, there will be a one dollar increase per cut. New prices are: Adult $15 Kids (12 & under) $13 I am hopeful that soon we will have a better idea of when personal service providers, will be allowed to reopen. At that point, I will open up the appointment schedule and do my best to get everyone in as quickly and safely as possible. Just a reminder to all my customers that the shop remains closed due the Covid 19 outbreak. At this point I have not received any indication of when the Ontario government plans to allow Barber Shops to reopen. As I said in a previous post when this finally does happen it will definitely NOT be business as usual. I am certain that we will be given very specific instructions on how we are expected to operate our establishments. In anticipation of these changes my technical cr...ew here at home (my kids) have been working on creating a website for the shop. My main reason for this is that we are also experimenting with an online appointment booking system for the shop in order to control the flow of people coming in and out of the shop I know this will be a difficult change for some of my older clients to adjust to and we are trying to make it as easy to use as we can. Also for myself since I am very technologically challenged. The idea is that you will be able to go to my site and easily book your appointments yourself but also if you show up at the shop or call me I can go onto the system and easily book an appointment for you. I believe this may actually be a welcome change for many of you who would actually prefer to schedule appointments in advance We are still working out the details and I will be sharing more information in the near future as we get it worked out As with every other business trying to adjust to this new reality it will take some time to adjust and I thank you in advance for your patience Jeff See more

I just wanted to check in with everyone. Hopefully everyone is doing OK out there. As Im sure most of you know, the shop will remain closed until at least May 12th, due to the restrictions put in place by the provincial government. I fully expect that this date will be extended and my guess is that a re-opening will not happen until sometime in early June. I would also like to acknowledge that when the shop finally does re-open, it will definitely not be business as usual. T...here will be a very high demand for haircuts, and I will need to have a plan in place to figure out how to provide service, while keeping both myself and my customers properly distanced and safe. These are all things that are weighing on my mind, and as I look ahead I must admit, are causing a bit of stress. I will be addressing all of these issues in more detail as we get closer to re-opening, and will be making every effort to get everyone taken care of, as quickly and safely as possible. Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well out there. I know these are very difficult times and we are all trying to adjust to our new way of living. Im sure by now many of you are either getting very shaggy or you have convinced a family member to trim you up. At this point I really have no idea when the shop will reopen since Doug Ford has just extended his state of emergency another 28 days I assume I will also be required to remain closed for that time period I have been considering trying to make a few short instructional videos that I could then post here on my page to help any of you do it yourselfers. So I will be looking into how to best do that and decide if its something thats worthwhile or not. Take care everyone and stay strong

Hello everyone, I hope everybody is staying safe out there and following the instructions stay at home and isolate. As many of my customers are older and are not familiar with Facebook I am asking for everyone that has an older relative that they know is a customer at the Barbershop to just pass the message to them that since my business is not considered essential I am not allowed to open and in fact can be fined if I defy the order to remain closed.
