So, Its a new year, Im gonna try something new! Anyone that knows me, knows that I have a very eclectic taste for music, and Im always on the hunt for something new, and I often encourage my students to do the same. Often times the best music lives outside of the proverbial box, and you might have to dig a little to find the goodies. (The radio just doesn't have what Im looking for) So, Ive decided to start a weekly playlist of songs that excite me. (because sharing is caring...) Please give them a listen and send me any feedback, also feel free to use this as a spot to promote the songs and bands that you like or promote your own band!! This week Ive selected 6 rock songs that have all been released within the last few weeks. These are the freshest tunes out there right now..anywayshere is the list #1 Virginia - Marcus King band. They totally rock, he's only 20 years old and he's tearing up the states right now..this kid is going places. #2 Skybunk Marche - Big Wreck. Thornley and the gang shred a 10 min instrumental, the record comes out in feb, its gonna be incredible. #3 Sunrise in Texas - Blackberry Smoke. These guys have been one of my favourites for a few years now, this tune is a ballad but it doesn't disappoint. their new album is out now, its wicked. #4 Bundle of Joy - Dean Ween Group. The Deaner is one of the most interesting dudes, he is an insanely good player with a great pop sense, yet he is such a weird freak!! lol, I think I like his first solo album more than any of his previous work. #5 Governed by Contagions - At the Drive in. Brand new song by the punk legends, It rips. #6 Angled - LITE. Japanese instrumental math/jam rock. Its so technical yet grooves like a funk song. I can't get enough of these guys!
