How does time go by so fast? This was my son Benjamin's birth, SIX years ago tomorrow! It is incredible to me, the power of photographs. They take you right back to that moment, to those feelings and those deeply treasured memories.... I love how Ben is holding on to my clothes and just so content... It brings tears to my eyes. Benji came so quickly, less than 5 hours from my first contraction. I did it all alone, as I was in Edmonton waiting to deliver and Ian was at home in Lloydminster. He arrived after I had pushed Bens head out, just in time to see his sons arrival. Ben didn't even cry. He was so content in that warm water and snuggling with his Mama. He is still the HUGEST Mamas boy and drives me totally mad and I can't help but adore this little boy. He is growing up. It can not be stopped. I do my best to treasure the snuggles I still get and these photographs, ALL my photographs, are my lifeline to the past. They are PRICELESS. So take all those pictures, remember those moments cause they are gone so very, very quickly.

Every year I take birthday pictures of my kiddos. Usually they are willing (a bribe was definitely involved this time) but Ben also wanted to choose the backdrop colour. He picked this green and I think it looks so great on him. I am a big fan of neutrals but this past year I've been loving the colourful portraits. I think being cooped up for so long, for sure had an impact on that. I'm about ready to Hulk out with Benjamin. Time is flying by SO fast! Hard to believe my ...oldest will be 12 this year and my baby is now 6. How old is your oldest and youngest? What do you miss the most?

You do not have to have a magazine styled house for your in-home lifestyle sessions to be beautiful! Your home holds so many memories. Having those memories as a background to your images makes them all the more meaningful. It doesn't take a lot of work to prepare your space for a photo session. Generally I like to shoot in 1-3 spaces. The living room, the master bedroom and the nursery. You can choose 1 of these, or all 3. It depends on how much you want to prepare.... Your job before your session is to clear your chosen rooms of clutter and give them a quick dust and vacuum. Make beds and simplify the room of extras (especially big toys, and baby gear). You will also need to select your outfits in advance and make sure they are clean and ready for shoot day. That's it! The best part is you don't have to go anywhere. I come to you! Lifestyle in-home sessions are open to Lloydminster residents. If you live in a nearby town there will be a travel fee added to your session price. Contact me for details if you'd like to book. Session prices are changing January 1st so take advantage of 2020 prices while you can.

What is a special memory you have of when your little one was a newborn? I remember when my son was upset I was always able to settle him down quickly by holding him on my chest and taking deep, slow breathes. Even now, as a five year old the same thing still works for him. I miss holding his tiny little body over my heart. I didn't think I would ever miss the baby stage but I do... I miss it SO much

I often wonder what has always drawn me to babies? From birth I was a baby addict. Ask any of my siblings or my parents. I was just like Elmyra from Looney Toons, with my 2 younger siblings AND I was 100% dedicated to babysitting in my teens. I studied Early Childhood Development in College and went on to complete my Bachelor of Education before having my own babies and starting photography. Needless to say it has always been a part of my life. Of course babies are crazy... adorable, that is a given, BUT I think so much of it is about their innocence. Babies are the best people you could ever spend your time with. They just want to be loved and are so willing to give that love in return. Babies restore my faith in humanity or at least affirm that we all started out as good people. Any day I get to snuggle a baby is a pretty great day for me. Your newborn's smiles are the MOST precious thing ever! I truly believe that these little babies smile because they are happy.... even if it is just a gas bubble moving around in their belly .... Happy!... One of my many session goals is to capture your little ones smile. I almost always get it.... Like 95% of the time. It melts my heart, so I know you parents must become a total puddle when you see these precious grins

Your little one has arrived and she is just perfect! It has only been a few days but you already see her growing and changing. You can't bare for this moment to be gone so quickly and you realize that capturing this moment and her tiny perfection is a top priority. I'm here to say, I've got you!... I have a few last minute spaces available to fit you in. Even if baby is already 3 weeks old. Newborn sessions can be done up to 8 weeks of age. Another one of this sweet girl in a bucket! I just love this pose SO much. I could do this for every session with one of the 7 different bucket styles in my prop collection. I'm currently designing a custom shelving unit for my new studio, to fit all my fabulous props and items. I can't wait to show you it. I'm a total nerd when it comes to organization LOL. Introducing... Caysen | 12 days new 2020 was the year of the boys. They definitely outnumbered the baby girls that came through my studio.... I have been so impressed with all you Mama's who have given birth through this pandemic. You have had a lot more challenges to deal with than normal and you have faced it with optimism and courage. Your little ones are all so unique and perfect. It is an honour to meet you all. I know many of you this year decided not to go ahead with newborn sessions, whether for health concerns or financial struggles. I totally understand those additional challenges. There is always next year and even if they aren't tiny newborns, they will still be perfectly adorable when you decide to come back in. Keep watch for my biggest sale of the year as Black Friday approaches on the horizon. Sales will be on all 2021 session bookings and you will want to check that out.
