"Business as usual is not an option. The limitations of technocratic controls such as dams and levees should now be obvious. Time and time again, these have increased flood risk and failed to flood-proof the floodplain." This article is written from an Australian perspective, but the lessons hold true around the globe and right here in #Wilmot #LifeInAFloodplain... https://theconversation.com/floodplains-arent-separate-to-a
As the sun sets on 2020, I want to remember the beauty it has brought into my life in the kindness, courage, creativity, optimism, resilience, and hope that I have seen in so many of you. We have faced difficult challenges. Been pushed out of our comfort zones. Faced uncomfortable truths, and loss. We have come through all of it. We can choose to be stronger and better for it. 2021 is just a few hours away. Let's choose to only take with us the best from this year. Carry forward the lessons, and leave the negative behind. Happy New Year, Wilmot!

Wishing all of you the spirit of the season in your hearts It's been a tough year for most of us, but there's enough hope and strength in our community to come through it and find our way forward to a better future.

This is sad news for our community. Many of you have memories like I do of him responding to a call, being one of the first to be there in support when there was an emergency. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Telling someone to "go back to their country" is racist. It is completely unacceptable behaviour from anyone for any reason. End of discussion. Thank you The Mike Farwell Show for your statements today. ... #EndRacism #StandUp #SpeakUp See more
My heart breaks for the family's loss. Heartfelt thanks to the OPP and Waterloo Regional Police Service for working to bring closure for them.
Thank you The Wilmot Post for making this article publicly available as a service to the community. I look forward to a respectful conversation about this development. https://wilmotpost.ca/news/article.php
Remembrance Day. Wilmot will never forget. Ever.
I wear a #Poppy to remember and honour not only the sons and daughters who didn't come home, but also the men and women whose lives are unalterably changed because of their service in our country's name. The ones who have stood up for those who couldn't defend themselves in the name of Canada, and justice.
