It is my #nature to #ponderlife. No matter the circumstance, I am inevitably drawn to looking at the #interconnectedness of everything and the sheer magic and mystery of the lives we weave. As I have continuously reflected over these last two years of my #journey through a #traumaticbraininjury and #posttraumaticstress, I have been struck by how #life is opposite to how we #teach our #children in #school. At school, we teach them to study first and then take the #test. Ye...t, we don’t know when the test will be in life, and we don’t know the content for which we will be tested. We are tested first and learn the lessons aftermoreover, the bigger the test, the bigger the #learning. As I gaze at my four incredible children, I often find myself wishing I could spare them #pain and #suffering. Pondering how I could teach them what is right and fully prepare them for what is to come so I could help them #avertdanger. I imagine that every #lovingparent has these #musings while profoundly knowing that our role is entirely to pass on more #powerfullifemessages. We are all #influenced by our affiliations and internalize our upbringing. Yet, this will still not prepare us for life. My children, like myself, will have an internal longing for their development independent of their roots. Today, my little ones are giggling with friends, my eldest is prepping for uni exams and my second eldest has spent her March break wrestling with physical issues. We all have our plight. I am taking a few moments to paint, and, reflect! Can you see the #paintbrush in my hair #silly me I just completed this red #floral and have started on these new blue pieces. I’ve also started a very complex #Mexican #landscape for someone who was extremely helpful to me and will give it to them as a gift. These type of pieces take so much time and a ton of #patience so I usually do other pieces in between to break things up and keep myself fresh. Hope you have a great day!! I’ve been enjoying putting my #art in #frames. It’s been nice to look back on some pieces and #reflect on how far I have come. I still marvel that I have this #ability to #express #creatively #now. It is very #freeing and a #silverlining. I read a quote from #Australia’s #breathe magazine that was so #beautiful...I want to share it #Fear, in its myriad #manifestations, constricts our course and keeps us enveloped in yesterday’s woes.
