Life can be crap at times. That’s life! How long will you let yourself feel crappy tho? After you’ve cried, screamed and lied in the fetal position for a bit ... try consciously choosing a different state. Trust me , there’s almost always a funny lining. Take it from my pooch!

Why do I love performing keynote speeches demonstrating that humour is a powerful tool for reframing stress and for becoming more successful? ... Stand up comedy is a great analogy for life. Bombing on stage is hard... (oh and I’ve bombed!!! ) , at first it feels TERRIBLE... BUT, nothing makes you reflect more than failing. If I kill AKA = have a great show - I am riding high, feeling great... then when I go on stage next I am almost too cocky. So, the comedy Gods come al...ong and put me in check by handing me a mediocre response from the crowd. This makes me look at what I did ‘wrong’ and I tweak. If I never failed I would just walk around like a flawless, cocky jerk . Life is a journey of learning. Failure is learning’s BFF (did I just make that up? I should probably trademark that!) We will never stop bombing in life and we should never want to. That means we have stopped growing. See more

My keynote speech is called Success is a Laughing Matter. Success comes to those who can laugh more (better energy, more productive, less stress, more joy, better physical health ... the benefits are endless...) A good way to set yourself up for a day with humour and success in it , is by STARTING your day off strong - I never thought I’d be a morning person! For years I would go to bed super late and sleep in super late. Then, I read a great book called ‘Miracle Morning’. Now, I love love love mornings! Best time of the day - full of potential. I create a relaxing, peaceful, zen space and read my book, drink my coffee and hang out with my little fur children. (Fur children seems less embarrassing to say than fur babies )

One of the lessons learned from two decades of being a stand up comedian is that 99% of life’s events , no matter how tragic can be joked about. When we make fun of a hard situation we lighten it and it doesn’t feel so heavy and debilitating. Hence life becomes less stressful, more fun and positive. When I speak to groups of people from various companies, associations etc I share tips and tricks on how to see not only the silver lining but the FUNNY LINING. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing an audience laugh and be inspired. Love. My. Job.
