Did you know that not all hair colors are made the same? you've heard permanent, demi, semi and direct. but what does that mean? Let's talk about direct dye hair color today. This is the type of colors that are Brighter and Pop out more. Direct pigments don't oxidize so what you see is what you get (kinda like paint). They also require a clean even canvas (also like paint). The pigments molecules are larger and sit on the outer layers of the hair strand, That's what makes th...em look more vibrant and also the reason they fade faster. Now that we all understand the technology, what can we do to stop the fading? 1. Cool water is direct pigments best friend. And no I'm not suggesting cool showers, I'm actually suggesting washing your hair and body seperatly. which will help with the next tip. 2. Wash your hair less. every time you wash your hair a bit of color goes down the drain so ideally once maybe twice a week for these fragile colors are ideal. 3. Avoid using high heat (ie: dryer and irons) and always use a heat protector. Follow those 3 rules and I guarantee your color will fade slower, but always keep in mind these colors will always fade.Choose a color that you will still love after its a pastel version of its former glory. have a wonderful day loves. xox
