Many people have said it feels like food is coming back up their throat and leaving a bad or bitter taste in their mouth.... 2 Hoarse Voice If acidic juices regularly flow up into the upper esophagus and sphincter, it can affect the throat and even the voice box (larynx), which eventually results in a hoarse voice and sore throat. 3 Dyspepsia Commonly known as indigestion. Reflux can cause a narrowing of the throat due to damage and scarring, so food is actually being held up on its way down 4 Chest Pain Chest pain is usually associated with is a heart attack, but chest pain can also be a very common symptom of GERD. Chest pain strikes GERD sufferers when stomach acid splashes back up into the esophagus, causing very intense pain that can often be mistaken for a heart attack. 5 Sore Throat GERD sufferers have a chronic sore throat. Not only will they have a sore throat, but also the sensation of a constant lump in the throat that wont go away. 6 Regurgitation GERD can cause nausea. What Can Happen When You Skip Meals Skipping mealtime is common and making this a habit can lead to dangerous outcomes with weight and focus. Cutting out necessary calories can lead to these negative outcomes:... YOUR ENERGY PLUNGES When you skip meals, your body is not getting the fuel it needs to be fully awake and alert. Low energy will make you less likely to stay active throughout the day, hindering the ability to burn calories and build muscle. YOU CANT FOCUS When you skip meals your blood sugar decreases and so does the blood flow to your brain. This can cause a headache or brain fog. YOUR METABOLISM SLOWS DOWN Without food constantly giving energy to your metabolism, it becomes lazy and sluggish. This will put your body into a starvation mode and your body will reserve calories, resulting in fat accumulation. This will cause your cortisol levels to increase and over time increased cortisol levels can lead to weight gain, specifically in the abdominal area. Facebook Tip Did you know that because there is so much content on Facebook, it can sometimes take between 48 to 72 hours for your friends to see your posts! The best way to get around this is to create evergreen content. ... This is content that'll be relavent a week or a month from when it was originally published. Another way to keep your post up on the news feed is to space out answering the comments on the post. Reply to the first few comments right away because the algorithm will see it as a quality piece of content when there are conversations going on in the comments. Then a few hours or the next day answer more comments and this gets it back in the news feed. Bonus Tip When your posts aren't getting a lot of engagement, this can hurt your page. 5 QUICK EXERCISES TO DO AT YOUR DESK 1. LEG PLANKS Scoot to the edge of your chair with your knees bent and feet on the floor. Extend your right leg out in front of you until it's straight and parallel with the floor. Hold the pose for 10 seconds, release, and repeat with your other leg. Do five reps on each leg.... 2. SHOULDER RAISES Raise your shoulders up toward your ear, hold for 10 seconds, relax. For a bigger stretch, do just one shoulder at a time, then alternate five reps each. 3. FOOT DRILL While seated, try tapping your feet for 30 seconds at a time or longer if you can! 4. CHAIR DIP While seated, place your hands on the armrest of your chair and move to the edge of your seat. Slowly straighten your arms and lift your body off the chair and hold for 10 seconds. Return to the starting position and repeat four more times. 5. BACK TWIST To start, sit in your chair and place your right arm behind your right hip. Twist to the right side and hold for 10 seconds, then repeat on the other side. Try to do three on each side. MENTAL FITNESS We all know that being physically fit is important and keeping your brain and emotional health in top notch shape, is just as important. The more you help your body the more you help your mind. ... Physical activity increases the amount of feel good chemicals and increases the flow of oxygen to your brain. Mental exercise is just as beneficial as engaging in a vigorous physical workout. Certain memory training exercises can increase the ability to reason and solve new problems. When you go to bed at night and you just cant shut off your brain, try using visualization. This can reduce tension in both body and mind and can boost your emotional well-being and calm you down mentally. Multitasking allows you to get more done at once, yes, but it can create more problems than solutions. Focusing on one task at a time will improve your concentration and help you to be more productive. Affirmations or positive self talk strengthens neural pathways to bring your self-confidence, well-being, and satisfaction to a higher level. Keeping your brain active increases its vitality. Doing new things in new ways can help retain brain cells and connections. It may even produce new brain cells. Playing boardgames or doing crossword puzzles, are a great way to build your brain muscle. As you read, your brain is processing each word. Reading helps you visualize the subject matter on the pages and you imagine what voices sound like in the written dialogue. Reading stokes your imagination and ignites so many different parts of the brain. I was reading an article about water and found this simple calculation to determine what your daily water intake should be. 4-tier formula to calculate your daily water intake, such that it promotes your weight loss. 1. Measure your bodyweight... Bodyweight and the amount of water you need are directly proportional. So, first, measure your bodyweight and round it off to the nearest ones digit 100.3 to 100, 100.6 to 101 or likewise. 2. Calculate half the bodyweight Divide your bodyweight by 2 and round off decimals to nearest ones digit. Say, 101/2 = 50.5 = 51. This means that you have to drink 51 ounces of water. 3. Account for physical exercise For half-an-hour of intense physical workout, drink 16 ounces of water to make up for the lost water. 4. Final calculation Say, weight = 250 lb. So, following step-2, you drink 250/2 = 125 oz. of water. Water per 30 min. physical exercise in a day = 16 oz. Thus, total daily water intake = (125 + 16) oz. = 141 oz. SOME OTHER PRACTICES Apart from these, drink Two glasses before meals At least a glass before sleeping and after waking up. A glass if you get up in the night. RESETTING YOUR INTERNAL CLOCK Your internal clock is called circadian clock and it helps you fall asleep each night and wake up the next morning. But sometimes it can become out of whack. Heres 6 tips to help get your sleep back on track. ... ROUTINE Going to bed at the same time every night. To prep your body for bed, do something relaxing, read a book or take a warm bath. LIGHTS OUT Keep your bedroom dim or dark with shades or a sleep mask. Turn off all electronics. The dark tells your body that its ready for sleep. BRIGHT MORNINGS The light tells your body that its time to wake up. You can help it by opening the shades or turning on bright lights. EXERCISE People who exercise tend to sleep better and feel more alert during the day. NAPS Keep a nap to a maximum 20 minutes. If you sleep longer than that your body will see the nap as your main sleep time. CAFFEINE Coffee wakes you up in the morning, so it has the same effect at night.
