Great exercise to target the Lats, rhomboids, middle and lower traps, arms, and posterior Delts.To encourage external rotation through the shoulder have the palms face towards the body verses palms away. In this video I demo a variation on the pull parts. In this video you will notice that there is increased range of motion through the shoulders and the scapulae aka the shoulder blades. When sedentary at a desk, we can lose range of motion and become stiff in certain muscle groups that aren't being used. Our back can become achy and feel tired as the muscles are trying to counteract the front side of the body that's getting tighter. This exercise like the previous pull apart ...exercise is great for training the muscles of the back and the external rotators of the rotator cuff including the infraspinatus and Teres minor. Be mindful about your biomechanics remaining tall, grounded through the feet, have a slight chin tuck, and using breath while actively engaging the targeted muscle groups of the back and the shoulder. I incorporate massage, manual therapy, and theraptic exercise with her patients and clients. Having Flat feet the glute medius and minimus muscle can be weak. Strengthening these 2 muscle groups are important in the connection from the feet to the pelvis. I continue the series focusing on flat feet. In the following videos I will be covering exercises that will help to strengthen muscle groups including tibialis posterior and tibialis anterior. There will be a few videos to follow of a few other exercises that would be applicable and a review for those with flat feet. Tibialis posterior is an important muscle that helps to support the medial longitudinal Arch, helps with inversion, and plantar flexion. Tibialis anterior is imp...ortant with inversion as well as dorsiflexion. Dorsiflexion is when you think of drawing the toes towards the nose that movement in the ankle. Part 2 of Pes Planus- @jenniferlyonsrmt demonstrates a number of theraputic exercises that can be performed at work or in your home. The goal is improve the stability of the feet as they are the foundation we rely on. These exercises will help to develop the Deep intrinsic muscles on the sole of the foot and other muscles that attach to the foot. The development of the musculature for those with flat feet will help to support a medial longitudinal Arch, improve Mobility, an...d stability. Exercise 1 - roll the sole of the foot to loosen up the plantar fascia. Try moving the ball in different directions including massaging over the heel and the area before the toes near the large big toe and small toe (metatarsals). Exercise 2: Toe Taps develops the intrinsic muscles of the sole of the foot for support for the Medial longitudinal arch. Lift all the times the place 1 for at a time on the ground. Alternate directions Exercise 3: Passive Janda's Short Foot - assist a client to grasp creating the some shape in the Medial arch area of the foot, make the foot shorten, and push through the 1st metatarsal head. Progression would be to do the passive adjustment and observe & encourage the client to hold the position for a few seconds. Then Repeat .
