Heartless. Immoral. Petty. Greedy. Cheap. These are just a few of the words being thrown around to label wedding vendors who are not returning non-refundable retainers to clients that are choosing to cancel their weddings altogether. ... Social media has become a scary and stressful place lately. There are a lot of angry people, a lot of bored people, a lot of people who feel the need to express opinions on matters that have nothing to do with them, just for the sake of arguing. Many news outlets are reporting on stories, but are unfortunately only sharing the client perspective and leaving the other 50% of the story unheard. This type of reporting will only lead to bias and is hurting our industry and the small businesses that are just as effected by the pandemic as their clients. Many vendors have been torn apart online, by people who don’t fully understand the circumstances surrounding the situations. I feel for everyone. I feel for the client who can no longer have their wedding this year or perhaps has to downsize and I feel for the vendors and small businesses who are losing an entire years worth of income, who are struggling to pay their mortgages or feed their families. For those that are reading these online debates and are neither a client or a vendor, please keep in mind: 1. All contracts are not the same and everyone has a different policy that is signed by their clients. Unless a news source is providing the policy and contract, its really no ones place to be commenting on the situation. 2. Unless you have a law degree (from the specific country the situation is occurring) you really shouldn’t be commenting on contracts and policies. 3. Most vendors are one or two person businesses, not large corporations. 4. Most vendors I know are giving multiple options (with no additional fees) to rebook anytime within the next 18 months. Some are even downgrading packages for couples who can’t afford the full cost. 5. We are all struggling. During unprecedented and difficult times, compassion needs to be practiced by everyone. Attacking each other does not solve problems. Be kind. See more

"...the most important thing is that you remember why you are getting married whether it’s just the two of you or a big event, when it is safe to have oneremember that at the end of the day, you are celebrating your love and starting a new chapter in your lives. It’s about the two of you and nothing else." Chanel and Steve's wedding in South Africa: https://www.jennifermoher.com/a-destination-wedding-in-sou/

"Working with Jennifer and Hugh was a total game changer for me. I remember processing the content afterwards, and I couldn’t stop spewing out idea’s about how I was going to revamp my business. I took my business from a fun hobby to a successful, profitable business after this workshop. Not to mention how insanely inspiring these people are, they not only challenge you to push your creative skills but they help show you how to do it. This workshop was just what I need, and h...onestly I’d be tempted to go do it again." - Kymberlie Hennigar TLDR? The Workshop is a gamechanger. www.refreshworkshop.com Get 35% off the Online Refresh Workshop today with code: SPRING35 at checkout.

I did some writing today : ) "Don’t get me wrong, I do love tradition, especially when tied in with sentimental nostalgia, but after eleven years in the wedding industry I have witnessed couples choose to do things their own way as well, and every single time I document those weddings I feel lit up inside. I love the idea of taking that special day and doing whatever you want with it. I love the idea of not following a traditional wedding script, but choosing elements that s...peak to who you are as a couple. I decided to highlight some of the most quirky, cool and unconventional wedding elements I have seen over the years to hopefully inspire others to feel the freedom to do the same". <3 https://www.jennifermoher.com/alternative-wedding-ideas-fo/ Feel free to share with your friends who are currently planning weddings! xo

<3 KARAOKE WEDDING <3 My dream of someone having a karaoke wedding reception finally came true. Maddy and Dan threw the most epic karaoke party and it was all I could do to keep my camera in front of my face and not jump up onto the stage and start singing. Maddy wrote a few words about planning their wedding and you should all have a read!... "Think about things you love doing together and try and incorporate them into the event. Don’t worry about what people will say and don’t do something only because it’s what people expect you to do. Your unique ideas will be what resonate with your guests as the best and most memorable aspects of your day!" Check it out on the blog! https://www.jennifermoher.com/karaoke-wedding-at-lula-loun/

"What I find so beautiful about weddings are the little things that go unnoticed. The tiny glances, the split second moments. Rarely does anyone else notice them during the day, but I am addicted to finding them, seeking them out, and documenting them so they exist forever. It's almost like a game to me, to find the moments and glances and gestures that make me feel something." Katie and Mike are on the blog: https://www.jennifermoher.com/intimate-prince-edward-count/

Ten years ago, I started a wedding photography business with ZERO experience. There were ups and downs and wins and losses. Every single year I would take note of the lessons learned and build on them for the following year. Today I have packaged ten years worth of wedding photography knowledge into an 8 hour video series that you can watch from the comfort of your own home! Perfect for beginners or photographers who need to hit the restart button on their inspiration. The O...nline Refresh Workshop. This workshop didn’t just refresh me it changed me completely in the most amazing way. It was a year ago now and I had 2 weddings in that first year and this year I have 16 because it made me want this so badly. -Danielle Meredith Use code: HAPPYHOLIDAYS at checkout to receive 35% off, kickstart your wedding photography career and start seeing the success that you are capable of achieving! www.refreshworkshop.com
