A new year is the perfect time to take advantage of new opportunities, right? I thought so too! The holiday season looks a bit difference year and taking care of your mental health is more important than ever. Here are 5 tips for maintaining your health during the holiday season this year, and every year. 1. FaceTime is your best friend...FaceTime your best friend. Your friends and family are a phone call away. Do something over FaceTime or Zoom that you would normally do in person with your loved ones, like games or holiday baking. 2. Make a budget...and stick to it.... The holiday season is known to heighten financial anxiety. Before you do your gift and food shopping, decide how much money you can afford to spend. If your gifts don’t get delivered on time, don’t stress. Everyone will understand. Try budget-friendly alternatives: -Donate to a charity in someone's name. -Give homemade gifts. -Start a family gift exchange. 3. Perform acts of kindness Support local charities and small businesses that might need the help this year more than ever whenever you can. Your contributions make a difference. 4. Don't abandon healthy habits. Enjoy the delicious flavours of the season while still remembering - everything in moderation. 5. Take a breather. Do little things each day that you know bring you happiness. Try new things. Get plenty of sleep. Set aside grievances. Seek a professional if you feel you need any assistance. Take care of yourselves.

Mediation improves communication between parents about child-related issues and other conflicts of dispute and supports parents and children through the complex emotions experienced during and after divorce. Unlike therapy, mediation acts as a guide, with the main goal being conflict resolution.
