What are your thoughts about going to bed when you are angry with your partner? Researchers say IT'S OK because going to bed angry might push people to solve their problems immediately when everyone has their own ways of dealing with conflict. Plus, around two-thirds of recurring issues in relationships are actually never resolved because of individual differences. Dr. Gottman explains more in the link below.... Of course, I can support and help you work through how to work through conflict in a way that is consistent with your preferred vision of being in relationship. https://www.gottman.com/blog/its-okay-to-go-to-bed-angry/

I love this infographic from Brenee Brown on ways to let go of things that don't serve us well. How do you notice yourself cultivating more self compassion, calm and stillness, authenticity...?

Hi all! You may have wondered where I've been for the past month and a half, as I've been absent from posting and sharing. Well...I've been WASTING TIME! Yes, you read that right; I've been intentionally doing more "nothingness". Don't get me wrong, I love working as hard as I can outside of session to support couples and individuals. I've certainly had feelings of guilt at times but I've found that a break away from ALWAYS working on my practice has been refreshing and... has allowed me to be more mindfully present with my clients. Stay tuned for a NEW BLOG POST about this concept and how we can include more "wasting time" in our daily lives in a way that can enrich our relationships. In the meantime, here is an interesting article: https://qz.com//the-psychological-importance-of-wasting-/ Be well.

I often see couples and parents try to protect their loved ones by attempting to relieve sadness. Although it is a beautifully loving gesture to shield someone from pain; we also need space to talk about and process sadness. What would it be like for you to create space to SIMPLY listen without needing to do anything else? Might this FEEL EASIER than trying to find solutions? What difference might it make if you ask your loved ones what THEY NEED in this time of sadness?... I have seen beautiful moments of RE-CONNECTION between couples when they REALLY listen, without doing anything else. I invite you to listen differently and of course reach out to me if I may be of support in this process. (Image via Gottman Institute)

Are you struggling with Mother’s Day? To the women impacted by pregnancy loss, miscarriage, loss of a child, infertility, conflicting feelings about being a mom, pregnancy termination, or wanting a child but it’s just not a possibility; I SEE YOU.... To the people impacted by the loss of a mother, complicated relationship with a mother, abuse or trauma associated with a mother figure, or cut off relationships; I SEE YOU. I recognize the immense power, beauty, and importance in celebrating mothers today and always. I also recognize the pain that Mother’s Day can bring and feel for people suffering in silence. I honour whatever feelings arise for you. They are ok. I invite you to be mindful that this period of time may hurt for you or some of the people that you love. In our conversations, I can create space for the unspoken to be brought to light in a gentle, collaborative, and affirming way. I look forward to hearing from you. www.jenrosadupuis.com

Do you or someone who you love experience feelings of anxiety? Sometimes, our supportive intentions may not be helpful.
