Working on an 04 VW Phaeton with some transmission issues. The car would slam into gear when accelerating and then slipped. This car has a ZF 5HP24 transmission. We replaced the A clutch drum and F clutch piston which are two know failure points and had the valve body shipped off to be rebuilt. The unit is now back together and we hope to have it back up and running at the end of the day today.

When you're working on your 928, check your lower ball joint boots. If they fail like these ones they can cause rapid wear. The boots are cheap, the ball joints are not. And they've been tricky to get for 78-86. Michael Luciana
