We always suggest asking for client references, speaking with townships that the contractor has worked with, and checking reviews before hiring a contractor. As stated in the post, "anyone can pick up a hammer and say they are a contractor". This does not mean they are qualified, or have the care and knowhow to complete your project properly. Make sure you find a contractor you can trust, and work with.
