The due date for filing individual tax returns has been extended to June 1, 2020. Taxpayers will have until September 1, 2020 to pay any 2019 income tax amounts owed.

Important Dates March 1, 2018: Deadline to contribute to your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) for a 2017 tax deduction... December 31 of the year you turn 71: Last day you can contribute to your RRSP. December 31: Deadline to open and contribute to a Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) (and to apply for its matching grant) and have it apply to that year October 1: Qualifying homes under the Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) must be bought or built by this date in the year after the year funds were withdrawn from your RRSP. February 28 (or 29): Under the Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) this is the date within the year funds were withdrawn from an RRSP by which a student must have received a written offer to enroll in school.

You need to file your taxes by April 30th - especially if you owe money. Don't get charged a penalty. :(

E-filing for 2016 season opened February 20th. Get your RRSPs by March 1st.
