This. Rant Post Ahead. I was at Chapters today when I caught a glimpse of a little girl all alone crying on the floor between two aisles. She had to have been only 7 or 8 and looked absolutely TERRIFIED. I stopped for a minute to look around and noticed NO ONE acknowledged her. So I went up to her and asked her if she was okay. She continued balling her eyes out and managed to get the words out that she had lost her Aunt and Little Sister and couldn't find them anywhere. ... So I did what any normal, caring person SHOULD DO when you see a child in trouble. I told her everything would be okay and said we could go up to the front desk and call over the P.A. system for her Aunt and sister. So she took my hand and that's what we did. And she got back to her Aunt safe and sound. I'm not writing this post to get acknowledged for something that should be normal in today's society. I don't want praise. I am writing this post because NOT ONE person checked to see if that little girl was okay. They were all either on their phones or immersed in their own little world. Why is this such a rarity today. When did looking out for each other became such a task, that people now IGNORE each other OR problems when they see them. Let's try helping each other again. Checking on people. Asking if they are okay. You never know what could be happening in peoples' lives. Or what a difference it could make. #BeTheDifference
