Calling Artists: Studio Space Available Introducing Art House, a shared workspace that allows creatives to pursue their passion while being surrounded by like-minded individuals. Located just a couple blocks from downtown, the library and Crescent Park, the house has a dynamic and stimulating flow that is bound to inspire. This quaint 1933 bungalow carries much of its original character and offers ample natural light throughout, providing both open and private options for cre...ative expression. The goal of Art House is to provide affordable and accessible ready-to-use shared art spaces, so to minimize the barriers that artists face in approaching their craft. Additionally, we aim to build a supportive art family that stimulates inspiration and collaboration through connection within the safety of a home-like atmosphere. Communities such as this are an important both for individual artists and the greater creative community, as they build on the strength of art presence in our city. The monthly fee to join is $150 and includes 24 hour access, easels and furniture provided. A limited number of spots are available. If this feels like something that suits your needs, let’s talk! Also please share with anyone you think might be interested, I would be greatly appreciative!

Left handed sketch. When I was about eight years old I fell off the monkey bars trying something new and broke my right wrist. In a cast for six weeks I had to learn to write with my left hand. It wasn’t pretty but I managed. For many years I struggled with flaring arthritic pain in my right wrist that was often disabling in my ability to use it to its full capacity. Growing up as a grown up, I find myself taking risks again, falling, and learning how to do things differently... in my healing. As I connect more intimately with myself, I can’t help but notice an increasing sensitivity in my left hand. It is my most receptive limb when it comes to energy. It is the hand I will feel the strongest vibration from healing stones and it is the hand I sometimes feel being held when in a state of deep meditation. More and more I feel a tingling sensation on a daily basis residing in the palm of this hand. I don’t know what this means but with an increasing desire to push my intuition to guide my creative process, the idea of practicing such expression through the left hand has been coming up lately. So I sat on the couch awkwardly drawing this, as my little guy bumped up against my arm. It is a great way to get out of the head, let go of perfectionism and allow the expression to create itself. #lefthanddrawing #leftsidewisdom #wednesdaysketch #penportraits #creativeprocess See more

A one of a kind hand made birthday gift for a one of a kind friend. Made from string, driftwood, wooden beads and rocks that my girls and I have collected over our years of rock hounding adventures. I find this type of crafting, working with natural materials and hand wrapping, to be a meditative practice, and admittedly will use it at times as a coping mechanism to escape of the overwhelm of chaos around me.
