I admit I always feel a bit nervous before creating each PuppetGram. It feels like such a silly-yet-sacred duty - to shine the mirror of goodness on my subject and really reflect the beauty their loved ones see in them as deeply and fully as I'm able. It's their birthday! I really want them to feel seen and celebrated for exactly who they are. A photo sent to me by the mother of Hazel, age 6. Hazel named her stuffed bunny "Gilfred," after one of the bunny characters in my picture book Some Bunny Loves You and apparently sleeps with him in her arms every night. I'm not sure why but this made me tear up immediately.
