Eggroll in a bowl!!! Definitely trying this. You?
On a work trip to Indonesia, we fetched fresh coconuts to drink from. Very fresh, as you can see from the photo! So good! Coconut water is all the rage here in North America. But why the hype? Are there cautions to be aware of? There are many claims, but there's consensus on the fact that coconut water is jam-packed with minerals. Potassium being the star. Maintaining the potassium/sodium balance in our bodies helps maintain healthy blood pressure levels. Decreasing sodium ...and increasing potassium is often advised by health care professional to help control blood pressure and lower risks of heart disease, heart attacks and strokes. For this reason, claims have been made that coconut water can help lower blood pressure (because of its high potassium levels). However, it has also been cautioned that if blood pressure is already low or if someone is taking medications to lower blood pressure, increased levels of potassium can cause blood pressure to drop too low. The bottomline: Just be in the know. Ask questions before falling for 'fads'. That's not to say it's not a good product. It just might not be right for everyone. Also be aware that coconut water sold in stores is often loaded with sugar and fillers. Just check the nutri info before making your choice. Should have basically one ingredient and no added sugars.
Be honest ... this is how you feel when your plants start to grow I don't know about you, but for me .... even though it's the most natural thing in the world (to grow food), I'm surprised, excited, and feel like I just performed a magic trick every time
Looking to get clearer, healthier skin? Of course, drinking water & getting your omegas & greens is huge, but I also find that cleaning my make-up brushes (every two weeks-ish) & pillowcase (weekly) really helps keep the little bumps & unevenness at bay.
In season food is so much more fresh, crisp, & tasty. Don't you agree? So, what's in season in June? strawberries, rhubarb, peas, lettuce, cherries, beets, beans, asparagus.
Can salads be crave-worthy? Well ... this one is! And it's so simple. It's on a bed of fresh lettuce & spicy micro-greens. Topped with thinly sliced chicken breasts tossed in toasted sesame oil, ground ginger, & sesame seeds + cucumber. Drizzled with a dressing made with equal parts coconut sauce & toasted sesame oil. ***Note: Coconut sauce (a.k.a coconut aminos) doesn't taste like coconut at all. It's often used as a soy sauce alternative. Tastes very similar. This is the brand I use, but I'm sure there are other options out there too.
Oulala, this looks so tasty. Fermented pineapple ginger drink. Yes, please.
mmmmm .... intriguing
Finally doing meal prep even though our kitchen is in disarray (renos :S). Keeping it quick & easy. Just a shredded rotisserie chicken, steamed beans & sweet potatoes + some cucumber & sauerkraut snacks. Sweet potatoes took 8 mins & beans took 4. In love with my Epicure steamer & everything that helps keep life simple & healthy. #ideashare #mealideas

SO many meals & smoothie packs prepped! I went to PEI to visit family & help out my dad who is in a cast right now. Best way I knew how to help was to cook! I wanted to leave them with a freezer full of food. Groceries were about $275 (included some pantry staples, like steel cut oats, olive oil, etc) & about 6 hours of prep. Much cheaper & healthier than buying out & eating on the fly! My goal: Get my sh!t together & do this at home too! All meals are freezer friendly & j...ust need to be popped into the slow cooker! MEALS: Cherry pork tenderloin, Thai chicken pineapple curry, Cashew chicken curry soup, Stuffed peppers, Lemon pepper chicken, & Citrus chicken. SMOOTHIES: 3 different kinds. All with spinach & pumpkin seed protein powder + Jalapeno pineapple, Apple almond butter, & Wild blueberry. If you'd like any of the recipes, just message me & I'll send them your way!
These look delicious! I think I'd be all about the chocolate chip peanut butter & curious about the matcha honey. Which one would you make?
This inspired me to start up some seedlings this year. You too? Thinking string beans because they grow like weeds & seem fool proof
Thought a cozy drink was appropriate for this snowy 'Spring' day, so I grabbed this from an old Instagram post of mine to share with you. It's simple, satisfying, & not too sweet! TO MAKE: Just mix water, about 1.5 tablespoons unsweetened dark cocoa powder, a dollop of coconut oil, & a pinch of cane sugar. Blend or whisk so it's frothy. ENJOY!
