Is this ever true!?! No matter how hard the horse is to handle you need to take that deep breathe and not loose ur cool. The more you react the more worked up the horse will get. One thing being a farrier has taught me is how to control my emotions. Sometimes getting after the horse and making them move their feet works but u come across a few horses that getting after them will only work them up more and send u backwards to ur goal. Read your horse and then decide on the b...est course of action and sometimes distraction works in your favour. Every horses is different. I often call horses a puzzle piece you need to find what works for this horses. Step outside ur comfort zone. Adapt to the situation. Always end on a positive note! #farrier #farrierlife #farriersofinstagram #farriers #farriertools #farriery #farrierwork #farrierproblems #farrierday #farrierlife #farrierslife #farrierlifestyle #notgetkilled #onepiece See more

Communication. The MOST important element in any relationship. Whether it is a relationship between you or your partner, you and your horse or even you and your farrier. Alot of the time the only time we see your horse is when we come to take care of thier feet. So we dont get to see alot of the little things that happen unless u reach out to us about it. If you dont let us know they were sore the day after thier trim, or they are not preforming as good as they should be. W...e dont know to try something else or to try and figure out the case of thier lameness. Did we change hoof angles, did we take off abit too much, are we transitioning from shoes to barefoot or is it more of a mechanical reason. Those are just a very few of the questions we run thru our minds. And yes of course we can ask questions and i always do. I ask how you are and how your horse has been. Nothing you say to me will offend or upset me. We need to work together and to make sure your horse is in the best shape we can make them. It takes team work. I love all of my clients and thier horses. No two horses are the same and something that works for one may not work for another. Its all about helping your horses put thier best foot forward! See more
