I just need a trim today, not a full haircut. I have heard this a lot as a hairstylist and have also been asked what the price difference is between a haircut and a trim. My answer is they are the same price. I know you might be wondering, Why are you charging the same for a trim? When you tell me you want a trim, you are telling me you want the same haircut you had previously, only slightly shorter than it currently is, and to add shape and texture that has been lost bet...ween haircuts. As a stylist, we approach a trim with the same skills and time than a haircut. A trim also includes the same relaxing shampoo, condition, and finishing style. So in short, a trim is still considered a haircut and you’ll leave feeling fresh and pampered after both! Have you ever thought of it this way? Let me know your thoughts or if you still have questions about haircuts vs trims in the comments! See more

Before & After _______________ Andi came in to see me for the first time last week. She was looking for a more modern cut and a blonder colour. It had been 3months since her cut and over a year for her colour. . For a low maintenance look I used a combination of #babylights & #balayage to achieve a natural sunkissed that would last her 4-6 months. ... . How to keep your hair feeling healthy for the rest of the winter ski season: Deep condition When winter wreaks havoc on your hair, restore moisture with deep conditioning hair treatment once a week. This will restore moisture and reduce frizz caused by indoor heating and heat styling. My personal fave is @pureology superfoods hydrating mask ($42)... Wash it less If you’re someone who washes their hair every day, it’s time to switch things up. Over-washing your hair will strip it of natural oils that help to keep hair moisturized and protected. Instead use dry shampoo and throw it up with some hair accessories. Headbands and clips are huge this season. Check out @philocaly for hats, clips, headbands and more! Don’t be outside with wet hair Wet hair is more vulnerable to damage than dry hair. Walking outside in winter with a wet head can cause hair to freeze and break. While air drying is best, it’s better to blow dry your hair than go outdoors with a saturated mane or a wet bun which causes lots of breakage too! Wash with cooler water Hot water can take moisture from your hair making it brittle and more vulnerable to breaking. Wash your hair with lukewarm water and follow with a cool rinse instead. This will help to increase shine instead of remove your colour faster. Get regular trims This doesn’t mean you need to chop your hair all the time. Getting regular trims can be small...they can even be invisible. Taking off the ends of your hair routinely will help with holding a style for longer, lead to faster growth and keep you looking first date ready always. ______________ If you would like help choosing the right products for you let me know in the comments below or send me a DM and we can chat about your hair routines and how to improve them!
