Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church 14.02.2021

This isn’t quite how we would like to say farewell to Matt and Kim; a team that has blessed and served our church youth ministry and many other parts of Rehoboth Church life since August of 2012. With these unprecedented times, which we would all love to see an end, we extend to you an opportunity to honour and celebrate with them the next chapter in their lives with their move to Smithville. On Sunday, February 14 beginning at 2:00pm you will have an opportunity to drive by,... drop a card or note and say a few words to them. Please remain in your vehicle and we ask that your wear a mask when you roll down your window to share some words. Upon arrival, please enter the driveway into the church parking lot from Jackman Road, turn right to drive down to the back of the parking lot and loop back up along the south side. Matt and Kim and their family will be in the garage of the youth house. Once you have said your farewell words, please exit the parking lot in a safe manner onto Scugog Street. We also ask that you keep in mind the number of cars behind you so may need to keep your words short. We also invite you to submit a video of a favourite memory, some words of thanks and blessing or photos which will then be compiled into one video presentation. Please have these submitted to Mike Gow at [email protected] prior to February 12.

COFFEE WITH A CAUSE: In 2016 Hope Fellowship Church was privileged to be part of bringing three Syrian refugee families to Canada. One of those families was a grandmother and her two grandchildren. They came believing both of the children’s parents were dead. They have since learned that their father is still alive and wants desperately to be reunited. The Hope Without Borders HF Team is working to accomplish this, which will require $25, 000.00. You can help by simply ...enjoying some amazing coffee. Order some Beans of Hope Coffee (sustainably sourced and organic) for $15 in 454g bags, or Keurig coffee pods, 24 for $15. Both have numerous blends to select from. The pods include many blends, flavours and options which include tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino and apple cider. Contactless pick up can be arranged from Bowmanville to Whitby. Orders will be placed once a month with the next deadline for ordering February 10. You can order here: http://bit.ly/3t6HSr9 or call Evelyn at 905-623-8991. Thank you for helping reunite a father with his children!

Sometimes you just gotta have a little fun and a birthday is a great opportunity to do that. Just sharing some of the silliness. Hope it makes you smile. Happy birthday Pastor John. He will be finding some google eyes in various places for a while.

How awesome is it that we serve a God who would leave Heaven to come be with us on Earth?

This past Sunday I spoke about the potential the local church has in our present reality. Would love to hear from you - How is God changing the definition of what it means to be church?

A little smile and wisdom for the day. (shared from Jan O) A pastor attended a men's breakfast in the middle of a rural farming area of the country. The group had asked an older farmer, decked out in bib overalls, to say grace for the morning breakfast : ... "Lord, I hate buttermilk," the farmer began. The visiting pastor opened one eye to glance at the farmer and wonder where this was going. The farmer loudly proclaimed, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was growing concerned. Without missing a beat, the farmer continued, "And Lord, you know I don't much care for raw white flour." The pastor once again opened an eye to glance around the room and saw that he wasn't the only one to feel uncomfortable. Then the farmer added, "But Lord, when you mix them all together and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don't like, when life gets hard, when we don't understand what you're saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen." Within that prayer there is great wisdom for all when it comes to complicated situations like we are experiencing in the world today. Stay strong my friends, because our life is being mixed with lots of things that we don't care for.......relax and wait until the mixing is done.

Hi Rehoboth. Unfortunately our camera wouldn’t connect to stream to YouTube. We set up my phone to stream to Facebook but apparently Facebook didn’t think I would ‘level’ with you. If you lock your orientation on your device you may have a better ‘up and down’ experience. This is part 2 of the service after we stopped and started hoping to get our orientation right.

Everyday is a gift but when you turn 97 you really should have a full celebration to recognize God's blessings for the many years of His goodness. Happy 97th birthday Pat! You have been truly blessed and have been a blessing to your family, friends, church and more. We pray God's continued blessings to you.
