IN LIFE HEREAFTER, DO YOU HAVE HOPE? (1Pet.1:23-25)... As goes the grass and its glory, so also goes man on this planet and his achievements and his wealth. Elder Peter is talking of what really counts in this life that we have come to live in. God sent us here and we have to do His will in Christ before all our achievement. (Jn.1:6) A man who has Christ, and lives for Him, is identified with the Word of the Lord that endures forever. The name of Jesus Christ is The Word Of God, (Rev.19:13) and this Word is preached through the Gospel. The Gospel is the Word that brings emancipation proclamation to humanity upon the earth. Those who hear the Word, and open their hearts to Christ, and live for Him, will live with God forever hereafter, but the eternal life begins from here and now. The most important thing in this world is not being a president, prime minister, a wealthy person and having billions of dollars to his/her name, but that this person knows Christ in God intimately, and he/she lives through Him. Eternal life means the knowledge of God, and His Christ here below. The Word of the Lord says, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glory, glories in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord that exercises loving-kindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the Lord. (Jer.9:23-26) God delights and rejoices over the ones that keep these things. It is not evil to be rich, wealthy and have greatness upon the earth, but we should have the knowledge and the understanding of God first within our hearts. We should incorporate His loving-kindness, judgment and righteousness first in our nature like our God. Then, we can explore the world of riches, wealth, money and gains through our God. If we love Christ in God first, our motivation will be guided by the love of God, and not the love of money. (1Tim.6:10) If we love money first, then it has become our motivation in life. We have put the cart before the horse. It will bring no pleasure, or satisfaction here and hereafter. Elder Peter says by the Spirit of God that all human flesh, the physical bodies are like grass, and all the achievements and glory of man are like the flower of the grass. Peter compares human flesh to the grass, which today is, and tomorrow it is gone like the vapor. There is no eternity with the human flesh, and we can’t rely on our physical bodies, the human flesh, because it has no eternality, and it is disallowed by the reason of death. James says in his book, that the body without the spirit can’t exist independently on planet earth. (Jms.2:26) What Peter is talking about is the spirit of a man that has affinity with God, who is a Spirit. (Jn.4:24) The glory and achievements of a man are like the flower of the grass, and do not have the power of an endless life. But if it is connected to Christ, the Savior, the Redeemer and the propitiation for the sins of humanity, the spirit of a man does have the power of an endless life. Peter says, The grass withers, and the flower falls and fades away, but the Word of the Lord, who is Jesus Christ, endures and abides forever. (Rev.19:13) The Word that is Christ is preached unto humanity through the Gospel. (v.25) If you are alive and do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, especially you who are reading this article, you are doomed at the end of your life here on earth. You could live 60-100 years from today, but you will not see God without Christ. You have labored in vain, and those who did not share your passion while you were alive will squander your life’s inheritance, be it your blood or stranger. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, because He is a consuming fire. (Heb.10:31, 12:29) In this article, if you have Christ and keep His Word in your heart, you will excise the love of Christ to the poor, and share in the conspiracy of kindness to the needy. The scriptures say, He who lends to the poor, lends to the Lord, and he will be blessed of the Lord, and He will repay him. (Prov.19:17) In this article that summed up the measure of a man, Peter is telling to us that that God sees all that we do on the earth, whether good, or bad, evil, or righteous, particularly, in response to the needy and the poor of our world in all the seven continents that make up the nearly eight billion souls on earth. Knowing Christ is not an option. You must know Him and keep His Word in your heart so that your life can be directed and lived through Him. Your body will carry out the dictates of your heart, for out of the abundant and the fullness of the heart, your mouth will speak. Your mouth will tell on your heart, and betrays your heart. Whether your heart knows Christ or not. Decide right here and now, and today, whether you will let Christ into your heart. It is very simple and you will not walk alone. The Spirit of the Lord will guide, teach and be with you 24/7. Go to the book of Romans, chapter 10 verses 9-13. Repeat what the scriptures say to you here. Jesus Christ will keep His Word to you, and from this day forward, you will never walk alone. PTL!
